It's a shame they don't do the top half of the castle.

At least it doesn't look pepto pink with gummy candy all over. Simple is best. The Tinkerbell holding the key to unlock your dreams is cute as can be!

Full results from the Castle 25th Anniversary makeover can now be viewed, and I have to say it looks incredibly tacky and cheap looking. Very disspointed by this!

Some may claim atleast it doesn't look like a giant Birthday cake, but I bet that Birthday cake cost more to decorate, than this very standard display. If your not going to do it right, don't bother doing it at all!

Thanks, Malin.

Well as far as cost goes, who really cares?

The birthday cake was what it was. It didn't "bother me", per se, but it was tacky as heck.

As far as this goes, it does look rather cheap. Tacky, though, I'd reserve for the cake.

So, maybe they were going for understated (I guess). You might have a point there though, with "why bother". It doesn't seem all that striking, interesting, or worth "taking an extra picture of" or anything like that.

Sort of hung a couple of "twenty-fives" on the thing, and that was pretty much it,eh?

A very "plain old sign" I've passed millions of times, suddenly looks MUCH more festive.

I think the castle looks great. Much better than the birthday cake, and also lacking the stupid look of that "changing mirror" they had at WDW more recently.

MOST recently, I thought the castle looked pretty awesome at night this past December in Orlando. Daytime though, it kinda didn't work (what can ya do really...I suppose it was one or the other).

As for this, meh. I certainly don't think it looks "great". It looks okay to me. You could I guess decide between "understated" and "cheap".

Personally though, I'm sort of siding with Malin here. Why bother doing anything at all? Basically they just hung a couple of decorations on the thing. Did they really need to?

At least in the case of the gaudy stuff, it was "striking", "memorable", and those kinds of words too. Worth an extra picture or two, in any case.

This is just kinda like "well, it's the big anniversary so we should hang something up there". At least that's what it looks like to me.

Hopefully they added some cool night lighting effects, I really like that stuff. As I said, Orlando looked pretty damned amazing at Christmastime.

I think the Castle is such a major icon for any park that it really doesn't need any extra props or decorations, but I don't have a problem with it if its done in a class way like DL 50th or DLP 15th recently have been. Also in the case of DLP Castle, the 15 candles were a big part of the Resorts celebration. The 25th TDL castle kind of leaves me cold, althrough I'm sure it looks alright when lit up at night.

That 25th sign Mr X remarked on, I too like it and I actually like most of what I have seen so far regarding 25th decoration which I guess is why I'm a bit dissapointed by the Castle stuff.
