This has probarely been asked a few times already and for this I apologise but I just wanted to know why LP still keeps to the same style forum and doesn't move to a better layout like the ones MiceChat and other Disney boards use. I use MiceChat quite a bit but I'm begining to get tired of that site due to reasons involving certain members that post there. I actually enjoy the LP Boards better as the people are a lot more friendly and have a greater knowledge of Disney. The only thing that puts me of posting on here more and more is how simple the board is set up. For instance I can't post pictures, edit my post or a number of other options due to the site being limited on features. I'm sure LP has its good reasons for not upgrading its board, I was just interested to know what these were, and if we could help out?

<<I'm sure LP has its good reasons for not upgrading its board, I was just interested to know what these were, and if we could help out?>>

I believe most other boards use rented software which increases the cost of maintaining the site. Heavy use of graphics as found on other boards increases bandwidth requirements which also leads to increased expense. To support this added expense many of the other sites have started asking for user contributions. We've never been faced with that here.

I think most people here appreciate the simplicity of being able to read posts without having to watch everyone's signature gifs jumping around all over the place.

I'm sure Doobie (owner of this site) can give you better information. I just had to put in my 2 cents.

I certainly can apreciate no signatures, but still not being able to post trip report photos or edit post's is very annoying. And I wouldn't have a problem with helping to contribute to the site either.

as far as photos, no one has had any problems posting links to albums

I LOVE the simple nature of LP's boards. I'd probably stop reading if they went to the style of MiceChat and others. They are too complicated and give me a headache.

I still think an edit button would be nice :)

Besides loving the people here, the simplicity of the boards makes it easier for me to access from mobile devices while I travel.

And edit button would be nice. But I kind of like not having it, too. It makes the poster really *think* before posting, and encourages doing things right the first time.

Best way to contribute is to buy stuff from the LP Store. :-)

>>I still think an edit button would be nice :)<<

I've proposed it before: How about a "preview" feature when you post? You type in your post, click "Preview" and it shows you how your post will look with the site's formatting, then you can either confirm to post or go back and edit some more.
