| Skellington88 Thu 3/27/2008 10:36a | hey guys, I just read this interview with Tony Baxter and when they brought up the upcoming Little Mermiad ride this is what Tony said:
"Well, it isn't finalized yet, but you get a different approach, because what we were [originally] doing was in a totally themed environment where Little Mermaid would be at home in Fantasyland the way the rest of our rides function there. Whereas this will be over in a park about how things are made, so it might have a different angle on the whole way in which you enter into the experience. It won't be coming off of an area that is distinctly Little Mermaid. Not much has been designed on that, at any event in this point, so it's sort of still subject to a lot of change. "
The way he makes it sound is like its still in blue sky idea phase. I was under the impression they got the details of the ride all figured out and were ready to start construction? Does this mean the ride might get cancelled still? Does it mean the ride may not be an omnimover?? |

But bringing it to DCA you have to find another way to bring it since you are in a different kind of park and they are just trying to figure out a way to do that. i dont think he meant it as it might not happen. |

I doubt it's still completely blue sky, but I have no doubt that they are still working on the details of how everything will work out. They will probaby be doing that up through the construction process and into the opening. Things always change, so it's tough to be really specific this far out.
And since when is DCA "a park about how things are made"? I thought it was about California? Perhaps they will change the name to Disney's Engineering Adventure... |

"And since when is DCA "a park about how things are made"? "
Who knows. That made no sense to me either. |

| Britain Thu 3/27/2008 12:08p | A remnant of Eisner's old idea of "The Workplace" Theme Park perhaps? It's probably the thought behind the tortilla / bread factories. |

| bean Thu 3/27/2008 1:00p | The attraction is on sschedule and being worked on.
Remember that Tony designed the original attraction seen on the DVD. ALthough he was brought into the project for advice and guidance DCA's attraction is not Tony's original creation.
Tony is very busy taking care of his ideas for Disneyland. |

| Skellington88 Thu 3/27/2008 5:18p | I just hope the Little Mermiad ride is very themed and detailed complete with fully created sets and Audio Animatronics. I dont want to just sit in an omnivmover moving past video screens. |
