<<< Also, maybe on the night of the 14th, we can meet for drinks and food after the parks close, say, at the Planet Hollywood bar, until they kick us out? >>>

Alright - so who's up for this? I plan to be there around 9pm. I think they close around 11pm - if it were any other night, I'd suggest somewhere that stays open later, but I know that many people will want to be up early the next day for park opening. If some people want to stay out later, then those folks can move along to another venue once Planet Hollywood kicks us out. I'll be at the upstairs bar area (which also has full food service) - stop by and say Hi! Who knows how many people will show up, but I hope that any LPer that's in the area will stop by.

I think they're open past 11.

I would guess closer to 1am maybe.

Give me a call tomorrow, SD. At least the two of us can hang out! :p

<<< I arrived in country today, and spent a bit of time at Disneyland. Boy did it suck! There was like nothing to do. Hey, wait a minute, I think I'm in the wrong country! A four-hour repositioning flight tomorrow should fix the problem. >>>

Is Hong Kong Disneyland really that bad. I'm heading to Hong Kong for a week next month and plan to spend a bit of my time at the park. I really want to do the park as its the only Disney park in the World I have yet to visit, but I find it hard to meet anyone who has a good word to say about the park.

It's not bad in the DCA sense, but there's just not enough to do. Imagine your favorite MK but without Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, or Star Tours. When you get there next month, at least they'll have iasw, and they've added Autopia which wasn't there when the park opened. If you're in Hong Kong for a week, it's definitely worth a day visit, but don't expect more than that.

So the issue with Hong Kong Disneyland is mainly a lack of attractions and not the quality. I have to admit the pictures I've seen of the place look beautiful.

The place is very pretty. One thing that bothered me though was the "cartoony" feel of Adventureland and Tomorrowland (in particular).

In one sense, it gives the whole park a certain cohesiveness (part of the reason, I think, that many really like how "pretty" it is), but to me it's just a little too much like variations on Fantasyland.

Exactly.
