<<< How different is a "W" hotel compared to regular Sheraton's anyway (they are part of the same chain I'm guessing? >>>

They are both part of the Starwood group of hotels, which also include Westin, Four Points, St. Regis, Le Meridian, and a few other things, including the Swan & Dolphin at WDW. And coincidentally, the Hotel Group within Starwood has as its current President none other than the beloved Matt Ouiment, formerly of Disney and previous President of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

The W hotels attempt to be "cool" and "hip" and for the most part manage to pull it off, which is no small feat considering that most deliberate corporate attempts at being hip end up in disaster. It's maybe about as close as there is to a chain of boutique hotels. One thing I like about W's is that they guarantee delivery of room service within 30 minutes.

Good info. The only thing I know about the W hotel is that the dark lord Satan had his birthday party there, complete with a Ferrari cake.

<<Yes - but they are fake due to the earthquake codes - however highly effective.>>

Very interesting. So I'm assuming they used painted glass instead of individual pieces of colored glass put together? It's nice to hear that they look just as authentic as the real thing though.

<<< And, there have been more food changes at TDL. My favorite "menchi katsu burger on a Mickey-shaped bun" item is now completely gone >>>

Oh dear thats one of my favourite food items at the Resort too. Has it been replaced by just the normal looking round burgers like the ones that can be found over at Cape Cod in TDS. I've had quite a few fast food burgers over the years at the various parks, but the TDR ones always stood out as the best.

There are no more Mickey buns period. They now have a shrimp katsu item which was pretty good, but not like what is now gone.

Bummer.

Well, you can always get menchi katsu elsewhere anyway. There are plenty of places to find it (and I daresay maybe even more tasty than the ones formerly in TDL).
