<<< I suppose I could express amazement that no one who regularly posts here about Japan responded to this thread that was created last December. >>>

That thread was in the NFFC section. Since I'm not a member of the NFFC, why would I be looking there? The opposite is not the same: the people who are NFFC members, are going on the TDR trip, and are also LP members are members of both organizations. It would be very natural for at least one such person to have said something around here.

<<< The NFFC members responding here are just trying to be helpful. >>>

There has been nothing helpful posted by any NFFC member in this thread - only postings offering blind support for the organization that have only reinforced what people here have been saying about it.

<<< There has been nothing "secretive" about the NFFC's plans.>>

Nobody on this thread has said that anything secretive has been going on.

"One thing that might escape some people reading this thread is that many of the participants here are more than just people typing away on a message board........Many of the things mentioned in this thread are obscure enough that they wouldn't even be recognized by someone not involved"

I have been around these boards on and off since 2000. I am very much aware of the various relationships. I am not a clueless newbie(my words, not yours). TDLFAN had his flaws, as do we all, but I still felt it was innappropriate to make fun of somebody's job and I thank you for your words on the matter.

>>Nobody on this thread has said that anything secretive has been going on.<<
Well, yes, actually. That would be in post #53:
>>Not to mention some secret kinda clubs...<<

>>...the people who are NFFC members, are going on the TDR trip, and are also LP members are members of both organizations. It would be very natural for at least one such person to have said something around here.<<
Except that the NFFC members who have been posting here are NOT LPers who have gone to Japan. The members of the NFFC who have been posting here have been responding to what I must now conclude is some sort of intentional provocation. Not helpful? We've given you the link to the website, explained who we are, shown you where we have engaged in discussions on these boards, and offered a hand of friendship. And what has been the consistent response?

Post #25:
>>I pretty much ignore all the NFFC stuff myself... it seems a bit strange that none of them would have posted in the Tokyo section of LP about the trip.<<

Post #51:
>>The fact that a trip of such a large scale has been planned and arranged, with some of the planners and participants being active LP members, yet there not being a peep of it here until it happened to be mentioned in passing by someone else, just seems very odd to me.<<

Post #55:
>><<< If you want to know more about the NFFC, why don't you just visit their website, www.nffc.org ? >>>

Well, okay. I'm sure we could have figured that out on our own. In any event, it's not really relevant to anything that's been talked about on this thread.<<

Post #57:
>>And I think I said as much before. What's odd is that there was not a single peep here until just a couple of days ago...<<

If you're going to quote me, why not use at least the entire sentence?

Then anyone could realize that was said in jest, complete with ":p" smiley.

SD, I might join you on the 14th (we'll talk)...teppanyaki is unfortunately not within my budget this month though.

Anyone who DOES go though, prepare to be amazed. That place is INCREDIBLE.

<<< Except that the NFFC members who have been posting here are NOT LPers who have gone to Japan. >>>

So, the Tokyo section of this board is limited to those people that have gone to Japan? I see lots of posts from people that are contemplating a first visit. Similarly, all of the other resort sections have many posts from LPers that have not been to that particular resort but are planning to do so and would like advice or information.

<<< Not helpful? We've given you the link to the website >>>

NFFC.org - Gee, I would have never figured that one out on my own. Thank you for being so helpful!

<<< explained who we are >>>

I already know who you are.

<<< shown you where we have engaged in discussions on these boards >>>

The only thing you showed us was a single two-post thread in a section devoted to your own group.

<<< and offered a hand of friendship. >>>

Really? Reportedly, there are several LP members that are also NFFC members and are going on the upcoming trip to TDL's 25th. Only one has come forward, and that was with a "I will be there" statement.

<<< And what has been the consistent response? >>>

I know what my response has been. It's been to point out that no dual NFFC/LP members that are visiting TDR this month have shown any interest in any non-NFFC LP members that might also be there. And note that I wouldn't expect the NFFC or its members in general to give one hoot about LP or its members (why would they?) - I'm speaking only of those people that are members of both.

On the contrary, you'll see several instances in this thread where non-NFFC LPers that have never met in person and have no connection other than being fellow LPers have expressed an interest in possibly meeting up for the first time during the 25th event. You'll also notice that in those instances, none of the people on the NFFC trip have responded.

I guess another way to look at it is that there's a sense of community here in the Tokyo section, and in LP in general. I certainly would self-identify as an LP member, and if I was on an organized trip to a far-off Disney resort that I had never been to, I'd mention it to my fellow LPers. Yet, from the dual NFFC/LP folk, there has been zero motivation to make even a single post here, other than to defend the NFFC.

***>>Here's a weird thing. All those NFFC folks have actually been members of LP for years, but looking over their profiles they've hardly said a word...<<
There's a lot of people on LP who don't post often. Nothing "weird" about it.***

Really? Nothing weird about people signed up on a website for years that have hardly made any comments at all, only to show up collectively on THIS particular thread even though they haven't been chatting at all about the upcoming big anniversary event?

Think what you want, it seems weird to me.

But whatever. It doesn't mean anything to me, I've never heard of this group before anyway. Plenty of Disney fan groups to go around, I guess.

And then, not to actually speak about the event, but only to defend their organization? Are we to believe that they are all non-posting regular readers of this section, and finally saw something after all these years that they wanted to comment on? Or, is it more likely that an NFFC member saw the thread and then rallied the troops?

Wow, this thread is getting long!

Has the Tokyo section EVER had a dalmatians thread?

It must have happened at some point, but not in awhile. I predict this one might get there, as I imagine there will be more talk that takes place in another week or so.
