We're back from a week in WDW.

A great time was had by all! The absolute highlight for us was the Prime Time Cafe. Our server was fantastic! She had us laughing the whole time.

Epcot was a blast. I love this park. Future World was very cool, it had that Tomorrowland vibe at its best. I loved the boat ride through the greenhouse, loved all the edu-tainment the place had to offer.

World Showcase was great, too. We really took our time and I could definitely have spent even longer there. The cast members were all wonderful and friendly, the various rides were neat, and all that CircleVision! Awesome.

Disney's Hollywood Studios was a lot of fun. Enjoyed the Great Movie Ride, enjoyed the tram tour, the various shows were almost all good.

"Sounds Dangerous" was the most puzzling Disney attraction ever. 7 minutes in total darkness listening to unfunny nonsense. Whew.

Tower of Terror was cool, but after all the talk online about it being vastly superior to DCA's, eh, not so much. I mean, it's better, just not worlds different.

Rock & Roller Coaster was just okay. Very disorganized line, slooo-ooowww moving. The ride itself was so short I chuckled when it was over, thinking surely there was more to come.

Animal Kingdom is gorgeous. I loved this place. I could spend a whole day looking at the Tree of Life alone, what a cool thing that is! You really feel far away from the world at AK. The safari ride is cool, but I wish they'd lose the paoachers business. It isn't necessary and is pretty corny. That's small potatoes, though, as getting to see the animals that way is so cool.

Everest was amazing, and dizzying. I may be getting too old for these types of rides, I was dizzy as anything after riding it. But the Yeti is awesome!

AK is just beutiful, and such a fun park to explore. With very limited time on this trip, I really only got the Reader's Digest version of this park, and it deserves a lot more time than that. At least I got a glimpse!

Finally, Magic Kingdom was really so much better than I remember from my visit 36 years ago. The lines really seem much more organized there and really move loads of people through on most of the attractions.

We enjoyed Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. A nice use of the "Turtle Talk" concept. The Jungle Cruise skipper we had (Sean) was the best ever. Just hilarious.

I loved being able to ride a People Mover again. I enjoyed seeing Carousel of Progress after all these years -- it was like comfort food (even with the different voices and updates, it still works pretty well). I liked the WDW version of Mansion better than DL's.

"Stitch's Great Escape" was a little odd. The only true disaster at MK was "Tiki Room Under New Management." Holy cow, talk about spitting on a classic. Only "Sounds Dangerous" was as bad, but at least that wasn't as mean spirited as the WDW version of Tiki Room. Ghastly and insulting.

Overall, we were really impressed with the food, which seemed a little better priced than in California, the cast members, and the ability of the parks to move large amounts of people efficiently. I was taken aback by how far apart the 4 parks are from each other, and by how beautiful and uncluttered the surrounding acerage is.

We spent one evening visiting several of the big hotels, they're all gorgeous in their own way.

A great week in some great parks! Thanks, Orlando!

Excellent synopsis!

Where'd you guys stay? Did you do any "non-Disney" stuff while there (*GASP*)?

Like Universal or anything?

Glad you had a great time!

***how beautiful and uncluttered the surrounding acerage is***

Something I have ALWAYS noticed, and loved.

Gives it a real "resort" feel, as well as making you feel as though you are worlds away from "the world", and never crammed into "a resort" Disney style, which is how California and Tokyo feel.

Living with the Land is one of those rides you appreciate more and more as you get older.

I thought Sounds Dangerous closed down? We've never done that one and with good reason it Sounds Terrible.

Glad to see your another champion of Monster's Inc Laugh Floor, I really liked it myself.

The true purpose of this trip was for my daughter's cheerleading competition. So we stayed next to the Orlando Convention Center at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Very nice hotel, good ammenities, wonderful pool area. It's very near Sea World and Universal, but about 20 minutes or so from WDW.

We spent last Friday at Kennedy Space Center. I was going to start a separate thread about that, but for now I'll just say it's a must-see! Excellent.
