2	magnet Wed 4/2/2008 8:19p	Your mentioning of the premier of Camp Rock on all the worldwide Disney channels reminded me of a question I've had for a while. Do you know these segments that Brenda Song hosts called, "Pass the Plate?" (They are hilarious by the way if you haven't seen them.) Well, she introduces a food item and an example of how it's prepared in the US and then we go to other countries and meet other "Disney stars" of the Disney channel in those other countries. For example, in one segment on the mango we go see some girl (I forget her name) who introduces herself as so-and-so from Disney Channel India. OK, well this suggests to me that Disney is already creating original content worldwide in foreign markets if each region has their own set of Disney Channel stars. This was confusing because on one podcast there was a discussion about Disney beginning to create original content for foreign markets that would not necessarily air in the US unless it had a broader appeal. So, the question is -- are these "Pass the Plate" segments just a clever bit of hooey on the part of Disney with them making up all these supposed foreign Disney Channel stars, or do these other folks actually star in original content that airs only in those countries? Sorry, this is a bit off topic for your blog but perhaps it might make a good mythbuster segment?
3	FanBoy Fri 4/4/2008 7:19a	Those are actually "Disney Channel Stars" that appear. Many of them competed in last years Disney Channel Games. While DIsney is working on creating local content for each of its Disney Channels, some of those Disney Channel Stars are more like VJs than actors. MAny of them appear in intertitial programming. Think of them like a movie surfer. Soon, however, every Disney Channel will have its own hits that are created just for the individual markets
