Well, having seen all 3 Pirates (and FINALLY owning all of them!!) and only the first National Treasure, I would have to say Pirates is better.

The story lines are grander, the effects much better, and come on..

Johnny or Nic?

Johnny hands down. :)

But, they don't call me Pirate Princess for nothing.

I have to go with Pirates, too. The Pirates story is much more engrossing, and the characters more interesting, in my opinion

Then again, it would all depend if you liked 'supernatural' more than 'historic'.

Pirates. That's all I have to say about that.

I like Pirates better. It had a way to be completely fantasy-based, while still believable in the real world. Treasure was just a little too much fantasy for the reality it was trying to produce, while Pirates was able to use well known (and brand new) pirate lore to explain things. The stories, while some complained about not being able to follow them, were much better for Pirates, as the constantly evolved and wrapped around different characters. The Treasure storylines were just a little silly.

National Treasure seems to have gone more for a popcorn with family on the couch sort of feeling, and Pirates was more of an event on it's own. Neither is really better than the other, but just different approaches to a similar problem.

(And for what it's worth, I prefer historical things to supernatural things...)

I like both, but must give the edge to Pirates. I find myself watching any of these when I need a 'pick me up'!

Guess I'm the only one who prefers the National Treasure pair.

Ah, but soon the question will be "Pirates, National Treasure or Narnia?"
