I just saw on another site
that the Tiki Room has closed and Stitch is coming. Don't know if it's true or not, but given that the Stitch Movie was tropically themed and had tropical music, if it is true I'm hoping for a better show than the very offensive under new management show that has been in Tiki.
Maybe I will get to enjoy the Tiki Room again, as I'll NEVER step foot inside the under new management show again.
I'd rather see it go more back to the original concept and show, but turned into an interactive restaurant show with interaction between the birds and the guests (which I believe was the original concept) this leaves me hopeful that it could at least be better and more on theme than whats been there the past few years!

April Fool's joke, brah.
And totally agree. Under New Management is mondo suckage. Total opposite of gnarly if you catch my drift.

I believe you may be getting it confused with the Enchanted Tiki Room in Tokyo. It is getting a Stitch redo. I guess it will be a cross between under new management and stitch encounter. Where a pesky stitch interrupts the show by creating havoc like dripping drool onto squealing tourists.

Yes, this is something happening at Tokyo Disneyland. There shouldn't be too much "Stitch Encounter", but there was a concept drawing of Stitch rising up from the center wearing a hula skirt, a lei, and playing a ukulele...so, it might just be themed appropriately!

Unfortunately when I checked the MK closures page myself all I saw that was down this month is Minnie's house. So I guess it probably isn't true. I was cautious about it being an April fools joke, but the post I saw was dated the second, so I thought it probably wasn't, sorry folks.
Sigh, not that I was anticipating Stitch in the Tiki Room, I was anticipating a change, ANY kind of change to the under new management show. They took my all time favorite, most beloved Disney attraction and made it into an insulting, offensive, show that I HATE! Most any change has got to be an improvement!!!
I do however prefer the idea of returning the basic original show, turning it into a restaurant, and adding some character/guest interaction. That could be wonderful, plus another source of revenue for Disney with the added food service.

I actually like the Under new Management theme for the Tiki room. The songs are better, and I like the annoying Gilbert Godfried (sp?). However, I know the staying power isn't there, and it will change in due time.
After all, it's just a showcase for modern audio-animatronics, so it SHOULD evolve over time!

"so it SHOULD evolve over time!"
Sshhh. With talk like that they will move ahead with "Mater's Magical Tiki Kingdom.

It looks like only Tokyo will be getting the Stitch Tiki makeover. Personally, I hope the original in Anaheim remains untouched! Zazu & Iago in Orlando's Tiki Room, now Stitch in Tokyo's. I don't think I like the trend...

I wrote this in another thread...
You know, Disneyland doesn't have 'Stitch / Alien Encounter'
And if Tokyo's new Tiki Room with Stitch is a hit...
Doesn't it seem that Disneyland would end up getting Stitch in their Tiki Room.
It follows all the trends. It gets another Disney character in another attraction that doesn't currently have any.
Hey -- it could happen...
