And I am leaning here:

3. Can't Wait to Get to Heaven, by Fannie Flagg

Okay, when should we decide?

And I do welcome thoughts!!!

Can't Wait to Get to Heaven, by Fannie Flagg looks really fun, in general I like the way you're thinking though.

Would we (the plural we, not the royal) mind Can't Wait to Get to Heaven even though it is the third book that covers characters introduced in a previous work?

I wouldn't mind, but I'd like to check with y'all.

Bit of a serial book addict if I read 1 have to read them all, as long as it is written so that you can understand it should not be a problem.

>>general fiction....blech<<

Was that a comment on "general fiction" as a category, or on the particular titles listed? Just curious.

I usually don't like reading one book out of a series, but I'll make an exception if that's what Ursula picks.

Maybe folks like me just don't belong in book clubs, but I would really like to read something light hearted. Fannie Flagg sounds like just who I would like to read.

Can we consider DAISY FAY AND THE MIRACLE MAN as well? Someone at work was talking about that book and it sounded interesting.

I joined this to read books I might have originally considered so I'm up for whatever.

Okay, I've picked the book.

In wanting to get into a more jocular mood, I've picked...

A Tale of Two Cities

NOT (oh, hahahahha, I've tried twice and can't read that thing.)

I've picked for reals:

Can't Wait to Get to Heaven, by Fannie Flagg

It is the third book involving the same characters, but I really adore her on Match Game and I'll probably end up reading the other two anyway.

I'll pick a completion date and post it tomorrow.

I hope we like it!
