We've added a new feature to the boards today, the ability to preview a post before posting. You should see the button right down there below the post button. Let me know if you encounter any issues.

Thanks.
Doobie.

This is really exciting! Hmm...let's see if it shows links that don't work...

I like it! I'm also a fan of how long URL's all seem to be hyperlinked now with a "..." in the middle. This is super exciting, and the next best thing to an edit feature! If people still screw up now, it's their own fault, and I won't feel too bad for them. : )

Just out of curiosity, what's the point of this feature, if you can't actually go back and edit after the fact?

Since it isn't really even a true "preview", but just a screen shot sort of thing, is this just a "mirror" or something?

Is there any reason someone couldn't just scroll up and read what they read without the benefit of this feature?

Sorry, I don't mean to sound negative. I guess I'm just asking what is the reason/functionality of this.

I always thought "preview" went along with "edit" so people could look back at, touch up, and fix their posts.

How is just the one useful?

(for the record, I checked out "preview message" before sending this :p)

I think when you're making a long post, it's helpful to be able to see the entire thing at once rather than scrolling through it in this little box I'm typing in. Doesn't really matter for short posts but may matter for longer posts. Also, this box I'm typing in now is relatively narrow also making it a little harder to re-read your post before posting. But certainly not everyone will find it useful. I personally do use it now and like it, though. Just gives me one more chance to easily see that I said what I meant to say without scrolling through this small box.

Doobie.
