So today Wednesday was the first preview of Tokyo Disneyland's new parade Jubilation. The Deep Disney site already has pictures and a short video up and running to view. http://www.toms-net.com/deepdi...u01.html

While watching the video I couldn't help but notice through out the parade the Disney song Your Heart Will Lead You Home, taken from The Tigger Movie.

Also interesting to see many of the Pixar Play Parade units are also featured in this parade. Including the three Aliens from Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear unit. Lee already reported on here about the Incredibles using the HoverCrafts.

tokyomickey You talk about not liking the playmode in the other thread, what music is used.

I've now seen a very good video from Jubilation and I now see what tokyomickey is not liking. What Time is it, from High School Musical 2 is a very interesting choice. Althrough I actually think it compliments the short breaks.

From what I have seen Jubilation looks fantastic and like Mythica it has so much going on around you all at once that you will want to watch this parade over and over again. I'm already in the process of going over prices for a return trip in November. However I'm unlikely to book until I know for sure Jubilation will be performing, as it will be during the Christmas Event.

Wow! I haven't gotten a chance to watch the video yet, but it looks like this parade redefines what extravagant means. Those costumes especially have a ton of detailing on them, and it seems to make a nice logical transition through the parade (except I haven't figured out what the last float with the character bubbles is supposed to be).

And there are a couple other things that also appear in other parades. As already mentioned, the Incredibles hover crafts are in the Play Parade in DCA, as is the Little Green Men spaceship. It looks like Buzz on top of the clear globe may also be taken from the Play Parade, but given a new paint job and a couple different little details, enough that each one is still pretty unique. The CDA from Monsters Inc is also in the Play Parade (they look like the same costumes), but I don't know if these ones squirt water. And I think my favorite addition is the rhino from the Parade of Dreams in DL. He seems to have gotten a pretty spiffy paint job, but it's definately the same costume. He's one of the highlights in POD, so there's no real surprise that he's showing up other places too.

I've never understood why folks have issues when DCE finds creative, technical, and/or production elements that work in a parade or show and decide to utilized them elsewhere. Along as it is done appropriately and to a reasonable extent, it makes total sense. I mean, if you're using funds to develop great stuff that in the end really works and the audience loves it, I say utilized it as much as you can.

And I believe Pixar Play Parade and Jubilation were developed around the same time at DCE, no?

They were, and from what I can tell in the pictures, everything from the Play Parade (and POD) works just fine in Jubilation as well. It's just kind of fun to see the similarities between all the different productions going on around the world.

I still can't get over how elaborate some of the costumes for this parade are, especially the ones close to the end. Anybody know what the budget for this parade was? I would imagine that just one of those dresses (the birdhouse or stained glass ones for example) could easily cost a couple thousand dollars to make.

I just don't understand why they don't make a new song for the play mode.

Well, it's the same with Disneyland's Parade of Dreams. I was not all that thrilled they used "Welcome" from Brother Bear, especially for such a monumental occasion as the 50th, but the song did work well in the parade. I do with Disney would create special songs that are unique to the show stops, but oh well...cheaper to use something already written...

I have no problems with Disney using music like Brother Bear and High School Musical 2 if the song fits. I think in the case of Jubilation it fits perfectly.

Am I the only one to find this parade... ugly ? It is huge and impressive, but I do not like it at all...

As with anything, final opinions should be made once you see this in front of your eyes, not on you-tube. There is too much to take in without being there live.
