Hey that's my birthday! How thoughtful of them to give me such a lovely birthday present! Haha.

I will be there from the 16th-19th. Any chance I will actually get to ride it?

Well, more than likely you will get to ride on the 17th, 18th and 19th.

More than likely there will be no "soft opening" on the 16th, as they prepare for the Media event.

And on the 17th, don't expect TSM! to open right away, my guess, around Noon, after the Press event.

While I'm sure that this is possible, I can't remember any attraction that didn't have some sort of "soft opening". They also use the "soft opening" to train the CMs.

The point I was making was JUST June 16th, the day prior to Official opening. Disney tends to install cameras for the media into the attraction, and will need to set up special platforms, etc. Plus they like to get the maintenance crew to do last minute touch ups before the Media comes in.

I am NOT saying there will not be Soft openings prior to June 16th, I am pretty sure they will be for the few weeks prior, just not on the 16th.

Sorry Darkbeer, I misunderstood what you were trying to say. I agree that the 16 will not be a soft opening.

If I were a betting man, I would guess that the 12 and 13 would be soft opening days. (but you never can tell with Disney).

Post 12 asked about the "16th - 19th", and I was responding to that, sorry for any misunderstanding.

That sounds encouraging David. Me and the Tuppence are in for the 9th to the 14th, and we should have a pretty good shot at it for that time frame. By the by, we booked ourselves into the Hotel Menage- I saw your comments over on trip advisor but I just couldn't resist the 73 bucks a night for a week where the main park closes at 9pm- most of the mixed reviews seem to center around people staying on Friday/Saturday nights when the lobby turns into a disco so I'm still hopefull, and the late open pool area sounded good. It can't be worse than the Carrosel or the ParkVue who boh wanted $60 bucks a night more!

I am fairly certain they are from what I have read about them, basically carbon copies.
