I'm glad to hear that you ladies had a good time with the new ride. Which of you got the highest score? And what was your prize?

ORWEN: We were supposed to get a prize, FerretAfros?! I didn't know that!! I mean, maybe we left the show building too soon!

ORGOCH: Not soon 'nuff if'n ya asks me! Never been so embarrassed in my whole dang life, after havin' ta stand in line with a dumb sister like mine--wantin' ta spend most a her time talkin' ta tater head--askin' him if'n he could peel hisself in front a ev'rybody. Then when it came time ta ride the ride, they couldn't find no vehicles big 'nuff fer Orwen, so's they had ta wheel her out on some kind a special dolly thing they come up with at the last minute fer over-sized guests an' all that's when all the squealin' started!

ORDDU: I NEVER reveal just how much I score, Ferret, dear. It's always a secret I hold close to my heart, you see. So, the only way for you to get an answer to THAT one is if you decide to ride Toy Story Mania WITH me!!!!

Hmmm, I always assumed the Witches were West Coast based. Or maybe they just are able to cross the country way fast on their brooms?? ;-)

>>>The set-up is slightly different for both due to the space constraints at DCA.<<<

Gawddd, "space constraints" in Anaheim rearing their ugly heads again. It's a totally brand new building for gosh sakes. What "space constraints"?? Lower headroom? Smaller footprint? Just how many "eye candy" oversized toy items in the WDW version are missing from the DCA version due to "space constraints"? C'mon, be honest here. Is the DCA one COMPLETELY equivalent to the WDW one, or is it just a "functional" equivalent like the line of BS that Braverman fed us all when we got the inferior version of TOT, even though he promised that it would be just as good as the WDW version in every way?

>>>The second you enter the ride vehicle to the second you leave the attractions are identical.<<<

That makes me afraid that the queue is inferior, and the exit experience too. Just like what happened with TOT. WDW attractions always get better queues. AK's version of Bugs Life is so much better set up than DCA's. DCA had a real good attraction (but with a bare bones miserable queue) -- Soarin' -- and at least DCA had ONE thing to crow about, and what do they do but put in a clone version of it at WDW and give it a better queue on top of that. It makes me so angry.

At least if they could've opened the rides simultaneously on both coasts so us folks here in the west didn't have to wait a whole friggen month of drooling over WDW's version of a ride that we were supposed to get at DCA first and exclusively, before we even get to set foot on ours. Long run-on sentence that doesn't make much sense, but I'm so frustrated with DCA still and the time it will take to improve it, if that ever even happens, which I'm starting to have my doubts.

Hey Witches - glad you got to ride TTMM and enjoyed it! I can't wait to ride it out here. It looks like fun. As far as the queue goes, it seems like out queue won't have all the retro toys that WDW has unless there is some part of our queue that is hidden. Seems like most of our queue is either outside or in the front part of the building. Maybe they felt since we're getting a highly themed Victorian seaside building we didn't need them? Anyone out there know for sure if there is any part of our queue that goes through Andy's bedroom?

There does appear to be a part of the queue to the right of the building that takes place in the old midway games buildings. It doesn't look like there is too much room in there, but it's possible that they are planning on making that look like the one in Florida.

According to the Imagineers who gave the little press conference for Mr Potatohead, we're inside Andy's bedroom the entire time we're inside the building. It's not really clear, other than the AA and a couple murals along the back wall (certainly nowhere near the same oversized props from Florida), but that's what they said. I think that the DCA version will be a lot more focused on the midway games, and the Toy Story thing will be a lot more secondary. In WDW, they needed to use Toy Story to justify the attraction in the first place, so there is a lot more that revolves around that. I think the DCA attraction will work really well with its simplicity of design and clear idea behind it.

>There's really just not much to say over there, as it's all very predictable and petty.<

Hey, I have to stick up for my buds over on MiceAge. They're just as knowledgeable, just as articulate, and just as cranky as many of the regulars here. And they frequently post stunning park photography. I know some people like Denise (nbodyhome) also post links here to photo sites. But it's also pretty cool that the MiceAge software can imbed pictures within the threads, which is an excellent way to see what's going on in the Disney empire.
