Ok so friends of ours are wanting us to go to DLP with them, and the dates are looking like a long weekend in mid December, they've been a few times before, and obviously we have been several times, sooo just how mad busy is it going to be? Is it going to be manageable using fastpass and hitting parks early and late? The plan is to arrive Friday lunchtime and leave Monday late afternoon, probably around the 11th (no calendar to hand) step up dave and kiz!

Smeds - It can be VERY busy weekends in December. But the usual rules apply - get in early, use fastpasses, and write off short queues. The entertainment is awesome however - don't miss the tree lighting ceremony, the carolers and Mickey's Winter Wonderland, they are great. And wrap up very warm.

As long as you are prepared for crowds and enjoy the ambience (plus book a tableservice for lunch), then you'll have a great time.

Crowds are quite manageable during mid December BUT weekends can be very busy. If you stay on-site you can benefit of early mornings. Also on weekends parks tend to be open longer (which is good because on late evenings lines get shorter).

If you arrive to DLP before rope drop and use fast passes, you should have time to see everything. Biggest queues will form in WDS to Crush's Coaster and TOT. In DLP small rides like Dumbo can be a painfull long wait.

Prepare for cold and wet weather.

One thing I noticed about WDSP is that they let you form a line prior to opening on Crush Coaster. So if you do go, get there about an hour prior to opening, giving you plenty of time to be one of the first ones in line. When we went, granted it was mid Nov, but we knocked out most of WDSP in about 3 hours.

Sounds ok then, if there's late opening that will suit us fine, as it's a group of 4 adults, so we'd be expecting to stay till park close, not much fear of us being at WDSP an hour before opening and waiting that long for Crush though!!

I guess we will use fastpass and do as well as we can, I assume TOT is a fastpass??

Oh and yes we are planning on staying onsite so would be able to take advantage of early mornings, although I don't think missing Dumbo would be a huge problem ;)

I arrived last year on Dec 16th which was a Sunday and stayed for a few days. Sunday was very busy, but still very enjoyable. Monday was great, crowds were very managable. If you can, try and extend it until Monday you should be fine.
