We are planning on eating here while on vacation. I would like to join the Safari Club so that we can take advantage of the benefits. Unfortunately you have to visit a restaurant in order to join and the closest one to us is over 90 miles away. My question is are you allowed to use a friends card or do you need to show ID? I wish you could join on-line because I would rather have my own card. Has anyone ever used someone elses card? Thanks alot!!

Just to clarify, you mean you want to be able to use a Safari Club card on your Disneyland trip, right? I live in Australia and we have no Rainforest Cafes here, so I asked on my last trip if we could take advantage of the benefits immediately and they said yes. I joined up before our meal, got a temporary card immediately and got my choice of a free appetiser or a discount (10 or 15% or something). I used the card for both RFC meals on our vacation as well as for merchandise, and saved a fair bit more than the joining fee.

Hopefully that's what you meant by your question, if not I'm sure someone will be around to help!

So you are saying that I can get a
safari club card there in Disneyland at the Rainforest & start getting the benefits right then? That would be great

Yep, they give you a temporary card as soon as you fill out the form and it gives you the same benefits. They'll then send your 'full' membership card out in the mail a few weeks later. You can ring them to double-check that that hasn't changed, but we did it in November and had no problems at all! Good luck and have fun :)

I do believe it is the same. I joined several years ago, and as long as you use it at least once every 12 months, you are a member for life.

I love it because we never have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table, even if we don't call ahead for PS.

Yeah, and I try to convince everyone that I need a yearly USA trip to save the life of my membership, but no one believes me >:(

I didn't realize you need to use it yearly, but I must admit, the Safari Club card has been one of my best purchases.

I, too, bought my card in Disney (WDW's Downtown Disney Rainforest) when I found out I couldn't get it before my trip. We used the card 2x while down in Florida, both times getting the appetizer. Even though the regular wait for a table was over 45 minutes, we were seated in less than 10.
Since then, we've used it a few times a year in Atlantic City, and once in Maryland. My wife likes the 10% discount in the store, too.

Not that they have them in Australia, but the cards are good at other 'Landry' restaurants, too.

Not all Landry restaurants honor them. Best to ask ahead of time.
All times are Pacific Time (US)
