| 1DisneyNutt Sat 4/12/2008 11:21a | We are planning on eating here while on vacation. I would like to join the Safari Club so that we can take advantage of the benefits. Unfortunately you have to visit a restaurant in order to join and the closest one to us is over 90 miles away. My question is are you allowed to use a friends card or do you need to show ID? I wish you could join on-line because I would rather have my own card. Has anyone ever used someone elses card? Thanks alot!! |

I live in Australia and we have no Rainforest Cafes here, so I asked on my last trip if we could take advantage of the benefits immediately and they said yes. I joined up before our meal, got a temporary card immediately and got my choice of a free appetiser or a discount (10 or 15% or something). I used the card for both RFC meals on our vacation as well as for merchandise, and saved a fair bit more than the joining fee.
Hopefully that's what you meant by your question, if not I'm sure someone will be around to help! |

They'll then send your 'full' membership card out in the mail a few weeks later. You can ring them to double-check that that hasn't changed, but we did it in November and had no problems at all! Good luck and have fun :) |

I love it because we never have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table, even if we don't call ahead for PS. |

Yeah, and I try to convince everyone that I need a yearly USA trip to save the life of my membership, but no one believes me >:( |

I, too, bought my card in Disney (WDW's Downtown Disney Rainforest) when I found out I couldn't get it before my trip. We used the card 2x while down in Florida, both times getting the appetizer. Even though the regular wait for a table was over 45 minutes, we were seated in less than 10. Since then, we've used it a few times a year in Atlantic City, and once in Maryland. My wife likes the 10% discount in the store, too.
Not that they have them in Australia, but the cards are good at other 'Landry' restaurants, too. |

Not all Landry restaurants honor them. Best to ask ahead of time. |
