I know, it's going to be an incredible park, my concern is whether they will continue the investment 10 to 20 years from now. The park has alot of potential.

It really reminds me of the older versions of Illuminations that relied much more on fountains and lasers than pyro and explosions. It's an interesting combination that they have, but in the video it seems like the fountains and the pyro are two seperate things and don't really work together, but it could be quite different in real life. I also think that Bohemian Rhapsody is the prefect song for something like this, because it's a good lenght on it's own, with plenty of variety, and it really seems to embody the spirit and focus of the park.

I also find it interesting to see the lack of variety in pyro. Almost every single shot seemed to be a fan, and if it wasn't a simple fan, it was probably a sparkley thing. This isn't a bad thing really (epsecially since they will probably have to deal with a wind off the ocean), but they don't seem to be completely aware of their environment. They are in a state where just about every single type of pyrotechnic (including the shells that make 400' balls) are prefectly legal and available to civilians.

It's a state where people don't go anywhere to watch fireworks on the 4th of July, other than the end of the driveway and see what the neighbors put together. People from neighboring states (who would probably make up a decent portion of the park's guests) know this, and many stock up on explosives while they're in South Carolina (assuming they drove of course!). I am by no means condemning the show, but it just seems to be a little 'home made', especially in a place where people really do put on shows of their own with just that much pyro, if not more.

Good point about the pyro. They are definitely tweaking the show now. I posted another video of it in a earlier thread, and the pyro was a little different. Its getting better. And I have to admit I'm a huge Queen fan. And I love the very beginning.
I do believe the park is aimed at an older crowd, and it seems one of the highlights is going to be the food. Its not going to be your run of the mill park burgers and chicken strips. And has anyone noticed the park hours? Most of the time they have a 1am close.
There is some stuff that seems little, but I bet will be really cool, like "the slow mirror". In all the bathrooms in the Rock n Roll section of the park they have these "slow mirrors" were there is a 2 second deley. I'll have to check these out.
And this is my single favorite detail. It is the entrance to the Maximum RPM coaster. Anyone familiar with Pink Floyd's 1977 album "Animals" will recognize it.

The infamous Battersea Power Station, makes sense. Now if they have live music all over the place, this place will be pretty awesome.

Indeed it will be, I am going to be in GA for business next year and plan on checking it out while I am only a few hours away.

One other weird thing I noticed is that while almost all parks have a climbing thing with nets and a small water play area for the kiddies to play in. This place just put in one of those climbing net things you find in a waterpark complete with the 5,000 gallon dump bucket. They're not mickey mouseing around with spritzing and sprinkling ya.

Its kinda wierd that there is no water ride. What songs would be good for a water ride.
Maybe a Proud Mary Water Coaster.

I think a water ride is forthcoming in the next expansion.." Purple Rain" the ride.....

J/K

But the possibilities are endless, Finally a theme park for the adults!

I thought it was odd that there was no water ride either. I would bet that one is on the drawing boards for expansion someday.

As for the time the park closes, that doesn't really surprise me. The other area parks, Family Kingdom, and the now defunct Pavilion, amusement parks have closed at midnight for years, but never really opened until after lunch time. The main reason - you can't compete with the beach!

"What songs would be good for a water ride."

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds?
"Picture yourself in a boat on a river..."
Sure seems to say water ride to me...imagine the special effects they could work into that!
