| Tinkeroon Wed 5/14/2008 6:26p | NOW you're talkin' SoThisIsLove...you just HAD to have a couple of Trolls! And Qwisp cereal? Yes! And Quake too. I haven't thought about Fizzies in a long time. I can almost feel that thick foaming action all over my mouth. Why does that not sound like fun anymore? LOL
Remember when you used to buy your milk from the milkman? In glass bottles with little cardboard lids with a pull tab.
How about when you were bored and complaining that there was nothing to do and someone would invariably tell you to go twiddle your thumbs? Or worse...they'd GIVE you something to do...and it was Never anything you wanted to do. |

| Lady Starlight Wed 5/14/2008 8:08p | Aluminum christmas trees with the BIG bulbs or the bulbs that looked like they were sugar coated, and the ever popular color wheel to make the tree change colors... better yet, colored flock! We had a pink tree one year! Dressing up to the 9's for any holiday esp Easter Sunday. Hat and Gloves ! Banana seat bikes with the sissy bar on the backof them and handle bar tassles, putting cards in your spokes so they make that cool click click click sound.. and the higher your sissy bar the cooler you were. |

| SoThisIsLove Thu 5/15/2008 11:05a | Yes, ladies! Most of those memories mentioned directly above are mine, as well.
I remember watching Romper Room and just praying that lady would see me in her magic mirror and say hi to me!
Sunday evenings: Bonanza! Have you ever seen "The Pest" with John Leguizamo? Very obscure movie, but there's a hilarious karoake scene with him attempting that song....and now and then when I pull into the garage I'll absent-mindedly tell DD15: "Hop out, Hop-Sing!"
Yesterday she looked at me and said: "I've been meaning to ask you for a long time. What's a hop sing?"
LOL! (She thinks I'm totally insane, btw. The generation gap is Grand Canyon-ish! :) |
