| alexbook Tue 4/22/2008 1:44p | I remember when we had a black & white TV, and I was convinced that I could look at the shades of grey and tell which objects which actually blue and which were actually green. |

| knightnfrees Wed 4/23/2008 8:54a | I remember watching the Family Film Festival every weekend. It was a 2 hour block hosted by Tom Hatten. Shown back in SoCal on KTLA. Usually Disney films and Pippi Longstocking. "Hip and a hey and hope shana!" :D Yep, what can I say, I watched Pippi...but I'm now recovered. ;P |

Rice, flour, and vegetable oil were cheap and not restricted at Costco and Sam's Club.
I remember Sambo's. I was a waitress there for my very first job. |

| Shiva Wed 4/23/2008 12:39p | I remember growing up with very specific manner traits. There was always the "please & thank-you", eating was done as a family at the dinner table and did not involve elbows on the table nor the TV on. A child never referred to an adult by their first name, it was always Mr. or Mrs or sir and maam. A man always held a door or a chair for a lady and if walking outside, the man always walked on the street side of the sidewalk. Boys were not allowed to wear jeans to school. We had to wear slacks-with a belt and a button up shirt. |

My DH still expects this from our children. Of course pretty much everything you have said applies to the rules in our home except our kids wear jeans to school. :) |
