| alphabetmom Fri 4/25/2008 8:00p | Oh my goodness, I had forgotten all about Ditto pants. |

| disneylandfan8 Fri 4/25/2008 8:01p | I remember visiting relatives in Arkansas: playing in the summer rain, experiencing the lightning & thunder storms & going down to the creek after the storms lookin' for crawdads, catching lightning bugs and putting them in a jar (then releasing them, of course!). Everytime I go on POTC and I see the fireflies, I think of those long ago days. |

| JazzCat Sun 4/27/2008 9:13p | Since Shiva mentioned the yearly "Wizard of Oz" and disneylandfan8 mentioned R&H's "Cinderella", I'm not sure what to say! :) I did have the Cinderella album when I was about 10 and my sister had the Haunted Mansion scary sounds album. |

| Tinkeroon Mon 4/28/2008 12:33a | I remember getting in our jammies and the folks popping up a big brown grocery bag full of buttered popcorn with lots of salt and going to the drive in! And riding the miniature ferris wheel there. And putting those speakers on your partially rolled up windows, and hiding behind the seat when it got too scary. And dad having to carry us in the house when we got home cause we were too tired to walk.
Remember watching Family Affair with Buffy and Jody and Uncle Bill and Mr. French and the older sister (Sissy?)?
I would get home from school just in time to watch Dark Shadows! That was the coolest show. Remember Quintin Collins and Angelique?
How about having posters on your wall from 16 magazine or Teen Beat. My walls were plastered with them.
And going to the movies for about 50 cents and being able to stay all day and go from movie to movie. (Though I doubt we were suppose to be doing that...but I never gave it a thought then)
And going to the pool in the summer and having to wear a swim cap so your hair didn't clog up their drains. And laying out on the hot cement to dry off (who needed a towel?) And buying a frozen candy bar on a stick and burning your tongue from a cup of hot chocolate.
I remember coming home from school for lunch and watching Let's Make a Deal!
And playing in the creek. Oohh, I loved playing in the creek. We had one that ran in back of our house and I usually spent a good portion of every weekend down there. Usually looking for Indian arrow heads or just sitting and watching the rats under one of the overpasses. Or catching Yellow Bellied lizards. Sometimes we (friends and I) would make these forts out of empty fruit crates that were stacked up near the pear orchards. And we ate the green pears until we practically turned green.
Remember Blue Chip stamps or S&H green stamps? I think later they had some called Gold Bond stamps too. We spent hours licking those things to fill up books so our mom could trade them in for things for the house.
Remember you used to get things inside your boxes of laundry detergent...like drinking cups or dish towels or melamine plates.
Aahhh, the "good ol' days"...

| disneylandfan8 Mon 4/28/2008 4:04p | OMG Tinkeroon, we have got to be about the same age! The drive-ins, 16 and Tiger Beat magazines, and especially Dark Shadows! And, yes, just loved Barnabas, Quentin and Angelique! |

| Tinkeroon Mon 4/28/2008 11:32p | Yes! Barnabas Collins...I think he was played by Jonathan Frigg. Don't ask me how I remember that! I can still hear the music to that show in my head. What a great show...sort of a gothic soap opera. |

| Tinkeroon Mon 4/28/2008 11:35p | Matter of fact, DH still has the original first issue of the Dark Shadows comic book complete with a poster of Jonathan Frigg as Barnabas in there. |
