Beautifully written, Rhett. "The end of an era" is an overused cliche, but it really fits in this case. Thank you, Ollie!

Great article. I heard the sad news on the 2719 Hyperion blog and have been spending the last hour or so reading the various tributes to and memories of Ollie. I couldn't help but gt choked up a few times. I am going to go home tonight and watch my "Frank and Ollie" video as my own little tribute to a man who gave me so much joy, laughter and tears.

A beautiful tribute. Thank you.

It's remarkable that one of Walt Disney's Nine Old Men died *yesterday.*

What longevity he had...

Very well said. Thank you for that.

I never really realized before how recently (in a way) all the things that started Disney happened. It's really sad that we are getting to the point where not many of the originals are left around. I'm very grateful that so many of their stories have been well documented, but I'm also sad that we are losing so many others. This really does signal the end of an era of pure talent, but hopefully they will be able to recover and move on.

It's amazing how many people's lives have been impacted by the Nine Old Men, without ever actually knowing who they were. I guess part of being in animation is having a big impact on people, without the celebrity that comes along with acting. He will be missed.
