Giving such a heart-felt and beautiful testament to sokk-mimi, only to discover that he was surrounded by infidels. I know EXACTLY how he must have felt. In July of 2003, I stood on a stage and enthusiastically announced a Golden Doobie Award for Mr X in front of a crowd of 200 that was composed of LaughingPlace.com posters and NFFC members. Oh. Wait. THAT crowd applauded like crazy. Uhhh... Never mind. Poor Beaker. (Sorry, X! I couldn't resist an easy cross-category reference. May sokk-mimi vaporize the rudeness-givers.)

The only LPer at the table, I was seated with people from NFFC. When you announced Mr X's award, they politely applauded, but I thought at the time their hearts were not in it. I'm not a real good lip reader, so it was probably my imagination that one of them (who shall not be named) (actually I didn't know their names) seemed to say "That Mr X seems like trouble to me."
