I finally gave in and picked up the first trade of Y the Last Man. Definitely lives up to the hype. So then I picked up vols 2 and 3. Then like a moron I bought vol 5. One problem I didn't have 4 yet. So I have to go pick that up tonight.

I have an original X-Men #1.

I have no clue what it is worth, I would say it isn't mint but its in pretty good shape.

It has a few pencil marks inside though.

It is exactly like this one...

So of course I have every copy of X-Factor. I like the old XMen over the new.

I haven't been into Comics for many years now but reading this topic from OP to now I am thinking maybe one or more of my sons would like a copy of something, maybe get him started so that I have someone that appreciates my collection to pass it on to him.

In my collection I have several mini collections.

I have lots of the classic and very old Tales from the Darkside, and stuff like that. I love the classic scary comics, like Amazing Stories and the like from the late 60's early 70's.

I also have about 10 years worth of Capt American including the era when the decided to remove the secret soldier serum from him to become PC. Naturally, I also have the same time period of The Avengers.

What a neat thread!

Oh, I love the old EC comics, Tales from the Crypt, Vault of Horror, and all of those. I wish I could find more than just the hardcover collections of them (only been able to find 1 volume around here so far), but at least I've been able to read some of those great stories. They were just so dark and twisted.

>>I finally gave in and picked up the first trade of Y the Last Man.<<

I just read this review by John ("I'm a PC" "The Areas of My Expertise.") Hodgman, and I'm kinda tempted too.

And that Kirby book sounds pretty nice as well.

If you want to hear some good DC stuff take a listen to their podcasts from Comic-Con. Cool information. Plus they have hour spotlights on Geoff Johns, Bill Willinghman, Batman and Superman.

I've got the complete Y the Last Man collection so I'm planning on going through that.

Also checked out the first trade of The Walking Dead. It's good but a little too talky.

I...don't know. I think it's going to merit several rereads before I can say whether I think it's deserving of its acclaim. (Like my opinion means anything.) Right off, I can say I really liked the story overall but found the "interludes" to be mostly distracting.

I am still really looking forward to the movie. If it gets released as scheduled.
