Admittedly several of the rides and all of the show except Bohemian Rapsody aren't open yet. There is a country music Ice show. And a Roadies stunt show in the "Lost in the 70s" section. And some sort of Diveing/ Beach Music show in the "Rock and Roll Heavan" section. And for the kiddies, from what I understand, they are actually erecting some actual traveling carnival rides until they can expand their kiddie offerings. They say some if the themeing is top notch. Saying it is like a mini-IOA, but they really need to get on with the expansion projects. Highlights are LZ:TR, Nights in White Satin, and The Eagles: Life in the Fast Lane. And the food. |

I'm sure if they got with Disney they could borrow some characters to throw on Led Zepplin the Coaster. |

It seems every bloody place these days features "kids only" sections. Why, in all of America, can't there be a theme/amusement park that caters JUST FOR ADULTS?!?
Personally, if I had kids, I WOULD NOT ASSUME there would be much for them to do at a place where most of the rides are named for druggie bands from the '70's.
Buta maybe I just think a bit more than the average dumb American "Everything MUST be for ME" tourist. |

This is a part of my gripe with so many parks - Disney, Busch and Legoland (as well as Tivoli Gardens) are the only places that get the balance right. |

So you ride Montu with your kids and grandma?
I assume you are saying that *most* of the place is family friendly, right?
Even in Walts day, he came up with Matterhorn right? Not everyone is okay riding the thing. |

And my 2 yo and 4 yo loved the Matterhorn! |

SeaWorld is obvious...Disney, usually. Busch Gardens gets a pass for the animals, I guess.
Most places are *not* kid friendly and never have been (save for the kiddie lands).
It kinda sucks in a way, that we can't get any new "cool" stuff because everyone always bitches about "well, my KIDS can ride stuff at DISNEY!". ;) |

| Mr X Sat 4/19/2008 4:07a | I'm a tad confused on this one though Dave.
Your kids rode Matterhorn, but Splash Mountain was no good?
To me, Matterhorn is MORE intense overall.
Maybe that's just my take on things.
I can't believe it would be okay for a TWO year old though!!?? |

| davewasbaloo Sat 4/19/2008 4:16a | I rode Matterhorn at 2, and so did Jess. It does not have any mega scary drops and a lower height restriction than Splash.
and I'm with X, I was hoping HRP would give Disney a run for their money in some ways. |

| Mr X Sat 4/19/2008 4:43a | Somehow in my head Splash seems less "scary" than Matterhorn.
I can't imagine a two year old riding either, or at least I can't imagine a two year old really *enjoying* either experience (of course any two year old can go through the ride in abject terror). |
