Anybody planning on seeing this? I'm sure that we will as my ten year old son can't wait to see it. I grew up with the original cartoon when I was his age and loved it then. To be honest, I haven't seen a SR cartoon in years, so, I'm sure that I'll be very rusty with the characters and old 'plotlines' (there were plots to this show, weren't there?). I'm curious as to how they might pull it off, but, at least from the previews, it looks like they got the Mach 5 JUST RIGHT, at least in looks!

brotherdave, Like you I grew up with the 60's cartoon and just saw the preview for the new movie on TV a couple of nights ago. I am very intrigued and can't wait to see if they were able to keep the flavor of the original show. From what I saw, I think I'm going to like it.

It looks like it'll be good eye candy on the big screen, but not much on DVD or cable.

I'm tempted to see it. I've never seen the original so I don't know how tight it fits to the original, but it looks like it could absolutely rock, or be really really bad.

I've read it's going to be playing in IMAX 3-D as well. My head might explode! (Hopefully not my stomach!)

I'm nervous. Looks like some unfortunate casting decisions... but yeah, I'm interested in how they shot the whole thing against green screen.

I won't be going to see this one. Too darn cheesy if you ask me.

<<wondering how they are going to do the syncing of the voice and lip movement to match the fun part of the original cartoons :)

ROFLMBO , I had forgotten about that! That would be so much fun if they did that in the movie. Just like all those Kung Fu flicks from the early 70's.

I'm looking forward to it, too. I watched Speed in the 60s and 70s and remember it to be a fun show.

I've seen a few trailers, so far, and it sounds like they're using the same sound effects for the Mach 5's jumps.
