What happened to this?

"Jordan, Israel, Persia and Egypt will comprise a new scene representing the Middle East;"

Apprantly shoving Aladdin in our face was more important?

I don't know what you're quoting, but HKDL is not DLA. I also personally don't feel like Aladdin and Jasmin on a flying carpet was "shoved in our face." I see them the same way I see all the other whimsical elements of IASW. It's cute, and doesn't diminish any message the ride has, IMO.

OK, I have had enough with the name calling when I disagree with what you or others who protest the changes say. I am entitled to an opinion as are you, but please voice your opinion without succumbing to namecalling....

"don't know what you're quoting""

Its from an official press release from the Poratl. So again, what happened? In this day and age, dont you think they SHOULD have expanded the ME scene, instead of making it a showcase for Ali and Co.?

"As IASW has grown pretty boring throughout the years, I am all for a little spicing up."

I love when people write this.

Grown pretty boring over the years? You mean the ride changed and they took out all the exciting bits when no one was looking?

No - what people really should be saying is the ride had grown boring to THEM. Like watching the same movie a hundred times over, going on the same ride over and over and over again is going to make it boring.

But every years also brings a whole new generation of children who have never seen the ride before. To people who have never been to Disneyland before. To them it's fresh, it's new, it's exciting.

Not everyone is an annual passholder.

IASW has always been a whimsical ride. How do you think they should have expanded the ME scene? Put in some bombed out buildings, and maybe a suicide bomber? I know you are focussing on teh Aladdin scene, but IMO it's just one element, and not the focal point. Also, a video camera can only show the limited field of view of the lens, and not all that a rider can see (or hear.) I honestly think you are blowing it all out of proportion to support your outrage over the changes.

<<what people really should be saying is the ride had grown boring to THEM>>

And on the other hand, what some people should be saying is that the addition of characters to IASW is an afront TO THEM. Not everyone is going to think it's horrible. I don't like the direction the company is going with characters being so much a part of the Disney theme park experience, but I don't think they muddy the message of IASW much, if at all.
