>>>What happened to this?

"Jordan, Israel, Persia and Egypt will comprise a new scene representing the Middle East;"

Apprantly shoving Aladdin in our face was more important? <<<

They are there. It starts with a Jewish wedding under the canopy, with Petra (Jordan) behind them, Persia is represented with Aladdin, and then Cleo represents Egypt.

I have mixed emotions. This one still seems better than WDW's. And about equal to DL's, but not quite as good as DLP's.

I LOVE the Asia section though, that is fab, and I think it probably has the best South Pacific section too.

I do not like the idea of characters everywhere, and the music is a little jarring to me. But overall, I'm looking forward to trying this one someday.

But I still want Disney to stop pouring characters in everywhere.

""what some people should be saying is that the addition of characters to IASW is an afront TO THEM.""

Your right, not just to us, but an afront to Mary BLairs FAMILY, Pixar and Disney animators, anynomous WDI posters on Re-Imagineering, WDI in general, and the general public at large.

>>Personally, this "adding Disney characters" to IASW is extremely overrated. As IASW has grown pretty boring throughout the years, I am all for a little spicing up. I didn't really see any Disney characters in this video. Or, they were so well placed, it didn't bother me.<<

I tend to agree. But I do think others have made the good point that just because I don't care about this ride personally, I would have a serious issue with them populating other rides that I do care about with toons. I have no interest in seeing Tantor and Sabor in the Jungle Cruise. I just assume not see Home on the Range characters in Big Thunder Mountain. I'll pass on replacing the Yeti on the Matterhorn with Sully trying to get back to Boo in Monsters, Inc.

And even though they aren't toons, the Pirates changes suck. I've never cared much about IASW, either. But I can understand someone being disappointed that changes made to a favorite ride are less than stellar.

""They are there. It starts with a Jewish wedding under the canopy, with Petra (Jordan) behind them, Persia is represented with Aladdin, and then Cleo represents Egypt.""

Then they lied. We ALREADY have those scenes. Only they are placed in either Africa or Asia at DL and MK. LAME. They made it sound like they were going to put NEW ME show scenes ala the newly expanded Asian section. Or sort of what they did at DLP.

""You DO NOT know this.""

Um yes WE do. Read and hear ppls reactions. Read online polls. Even NON-Disney geeks/purists are against this and/or think its just stupid.

_But every years also brings a whole new generation of children who have never seen the ride before. To people who have never been to Disneyland before. To them it's fresh, it's new, it's exciting.

But newer children AND the "bored" adults can both benefit from a changeover. Im all for it. Love it!

-I don't like the direction the company is going with characters being so much a part of the Disney theme park experience, but I don't think they muddy the message of IASW much, if at all.

Second that, Trekker.
