***What's the risk of accepting the free ticket? What's the worst that could happen?***

So you should sign up to a particular religion because, hey, it's can't hurt and you might as well do it because if they're right you get to go to heaven?

Seems awfully hypocritical to me.

Jesus is the most likely of being right.

What makes hime more right than mohammed, or Buddha, or Yogi Rishi? Because that is what you have been brought up to believe?

>>It's up to you. That's the value of faith. You just don't really know. What's the risk of accepting the free ticket? What's the worst that could happen?<<

This is exactly what I was referring to in another thread. When it suits them, believers will employ "logic" to try and show why their way really is more plausible. But when shown that the logic doesn't work, they fall back on the "well, it's all just faith" argument.

Can't have it both ways. It's either logical, or it's just faith, which, by definition, is devoid of reason and logic. I'm not saying that as a bad thing, I'm saying that's just how it is.

My faith, the way I know and the reason I believe God lives, cannot be proven by logic. I don't claim it should be.

But elements of doctrine within the faith, and the history of faith and mankind on earth, is NOT devoid of logic and should be studied and understood the best we can.

Yep. You can have logic and faith at the same time. Faith is not devoid of reason in logic. Faith is just devoid of something able to be read by your human senses.

The Atomic Theory is not devoid of logic, or faith.

***Jesus is the most likely of being right.***

See, it's ridiculous statements like this that turn me off to organized religion types.

Guess what. There are billions of people, faithful and devoted people, who would disagree with you.

You realize that, right?

This "I'm right and you're wrong" mentality is EXACTLY what is wrong with religion, and why it is such a source of negativity in this world instead of the powerful source for good and understanding that it *could* be.

Not a matter of faith, it has been proven.

Just ask the test subjects, the residents of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

"Not a matter of faith, it has been proven."

Exactly - you don't have "faith" that Atomic Theory is correct. One has only to turn on the lights that are powered by nuclear energy. Or see the results of an atomic bomb. Or see the amazing pictures of Saturn provided by the nuclear powered Cassini spacecraft.
