When do the grad nights start in May? Is it about the same time every year? Is the park typically open late in May or just on the weekends still? Does Fantasmic! usually show in May? How about the Food and Wine show at DCA? Is it over by May or how long into May does it usually go? And is it just classes mostly or are there kiosks like at Epcot to buy special items?

I know - I need a lot answered, Thanks for any help!

First Grad Night I mean. Fantasmic! usually shows on the weekends until peak season and I think the food and wine festival is over, but again I'm not sure. The Disneyland website will have all the info you want. You can look up the schedule for the dates you will be there and it will tell you what events are going on, what rides are being refurbished, parade and show times, all that important stuff. We'll be there May 6-10 and Fantasmic! and fireworks are only on the weekend. It also doesn't show anything about the food and wine festival so I'm pretty sure it's over. Good luck!

Yes, first Grad Night is May 15th. The parks are only open late on the weekends. DL closes at 8 on weekdays. Fantasmic is weekends only.

The Food and Wine Festival will be over.

Most of the information you are interested in can be easily found at disneyland.com on the calendar page.

I did look on Disney's site. But I'm planning for next year. Wondered if that was typical for every year. Now we are thinking April 29- May 9th or so.

Probably should avoid Mother's Day weekend right?

Wanted to avoid grad nights if possible, too.

Grad nights don't effect the park for you. All the grad night stuff is after closing and goes throughout the night. If you are staying close you will probably be able to see the fireworks for the grads (if they still do that).

But don't they close the park early, like at 6 or something crazy like that on those days?

Nope the park closes at 8 everynight during the week in may. Grad nights I believe are all during the week.

OK. Then that isn't so bad. Do hordes of teenagers show up during the day, though?

No they are kept on their buses - their tickets do not work during the day - this is a very controlled event - it is done to ensure the everyman visiting the park isn't effected.
