So with the magic your way ticket it's pretty inexpensive to add additional days to the ticket but gets expensive to add the park hopping option. So if you only plan on park hopping a few days on the trip could you just add a couple extra days to the ticket and use a second day on the ticket that day to hop to a second park instead of adding the park hopping option.

I was thinking the same thing.

Once I already have 5 days, it's hardly any more money to add on every other day we'll be there to make 8 ($6 more each adult to be $221 for each adults). Surely it would be easy then to see everything and take breaks as needed. It would be more expensive ($260 for the 5 day with park hopper) and we could not enter parks the other days to space things out more.

However, when I mentioned this a few of the very knowledgeable people on the site said that they would still suggest park hopping especially for us (2 adults).

Well I was thinking of doing this since this trip we won't have as much time as trips in the past so we will probably not be doing as much hopping and probably only hop on two days so I'd probably only use the park hopping on two days so it would be WAY cheaper if I could just add two more days to my MYW ticket and do it that way since at that point ti only costs $6 to add an additional day for the three of us.

Well I just talked to Disney and they said oh no they won't let you do that.

It's buy the Park Hopper or nothing.

It is a lot safer to use park hopping.

We do, just to be safe.

Good thing you checked first. I guess if everybody did buy extra days, Disney would realize they were losing money.

There is actually no being safe about it. You cannot use a second day in one day on a combined "my way" ticket. You could if you wanted to buy individual one day tickets, but, that would cost a fortune and Park Hopper would be way cheaper.

Seriously, the rule of thumb is if you figure out a way to make it cheaper, Disney has already thought of it and sealed up the loop hole.

Ok, so I go to MK and leave, say mid day. I can't go to Epcot and use another day? What would they do, force me to purchase a one-day ticket for Epcot? I'm not agruing, just trying to see how it work.

Well, they wouldn't force you to do anything unless you really wanted to go to Epcot because you cannot park hop on that ticket unless it's a park hopper. They will not let you use a second day on the same day. They would lose too much money in that case. I don't think that the computers would allow it to happen or be bypassed. Then you would, indeed have to purchase a single day ticket to get in, there is no way around it that I know of.

I checked a few sources and the ticket simply will not allow you to enter a second park on the the same day without the park hopper option. You can only use one admission a day.

They used to sell non-park hopper tickets that you could use a second admission to hop to a second park before the MYW tickets but I guess not any more.
