I know someone who is a Disney CM and has a Silver Pass (don't know too much about that). Well, I guess he is able to go to any Disney Park for free (except for 30 blockout days a year), except Tokyo Disney. Does anyone know why that would be? He has no plans to go there anyway as he lives in US, but I'm very curious about this.

Tokyo Disney Resort is owned and operated by the Oriental Land Company under a licensing deal between them and Disney. OLC pay a standard licensing fee and I think its 10% of the gate, plus I think OLC also pay WDI to build all its park and attractions for them. So reason why this CastMember probarely can't gain access to the Tokyo parks is because Disney don't own it, plus its also the fact OLC don't even give its own Cast Members special perks, let alone the Disney CM's.

***its also the fact OLC don't even give its own Cast Members special perks***

Not entirely true.

They don't get as many admissions as the American CM's, but they do get free tickets sometimes (at least all the CM's I know, who are mostly in entertainment so it could be different for other positions).

It's very stingy. When OLC Employee's including Tokyo Disney Resort Cast Members visit all the other Disney Parks around the world, Disney gives THEM discounts, but when Disney Company Employee's visit Tokyo Disney, they get ZERO Discounts!

Yeah, as much as I love that OLC tries hard to keep the parks as Disney as possible, I hate the fact that it basically treats its employees like crap :(.

I have a friend who works in the Magic shop at World Bazaar, and in Abu's Bazaar in DisneySea. He came to DisneySea to have dinner with me after a day of working at Disneyland. He had to buy a full-price ticket to DisneySea to do it.

He should've just snuck in, it's easy enough for a cast member. ;p

I have a lot of Japanese friends and "sneaking in" is not something I can imagine any of them doing.

True nuff. :p

But man, wow. A full price ticket to eat dinner, that's crazy! You guys should've gone to Shoppers Plaza or something!
