I could see more people coming to check out the new ride and heading over to DL after spending a few hours in DCA, making DL even more crowded.

<<oc_dean: btw.....
This is no E Ticket.

Just a more 'glamorized' version of Buzz Lightyear. It will be great .. but lets put that "it will be great" in perspective.>>

Actually, it's not even that much of a glamorized attraction. While it does use 3D video technology, Buzz Lightyear is REAL 3D. The TSM attraction just moves "players" from one 3D video game to another. Outside of the big 3D element, you're pretty much getting what you could get with a Nintendo Wii.

I can't believe it, but we are taking SIL and her family to Disneyland right after the opening. I've read about the empty streets of DCA, but I'd love to experience them. It seems we always go when there is some reason for lots of people to go there. And I agree with the reasoning that people are likely to get their fill of DCA and head over to Disneyland. But then again, it will be the summer, so I don't think it can get any fuller than full.

Saying that an attraction is a "D" ride rather than an "E" does not mean that it's a bad ride. It just means that it is not as big.

Peter Pan which is only a "C" ticket attraction is still one of the better and more popular attractions in the park.

I think this ride will be a D and a half ride.

Not an E but better than a D ticket.

I found going by DL's old 1956-82 ticket system a fairly good measure to attribute what this ride is.

The dark rides in Fantasyland (Toad, Pan, Snow White) "C" tickets.
Then you look at the large scale dark rides: Haunted Mansion and Pirates .. which were "E"s.

This one seems to fit squarely down the middle .. as something not as small as the Fantasyland dark rides ... but not as grand in scope, size, etc .. to Mansion/Pirates.

Funny thing though ;) ....
if the ticket system was currently in place ... I have NO DOUBT Disney would place it an "E".

In this day and age ... It's SO MUCH MORE than just attraction size, length, and special effects.

It's PERCEIVED VALUE!

And you don't think they wouldn't toot this as their "Grand spank'n E ticket extravaganza"?!!! ;) .. OHHHHH, they would!! LOL

And in a few years .. it would drop to "D" and most likely stay there.

As DL "E"s went to "D"s .. and "D"s to "C"s .. as age crept into attractions.

oc-dean, so now you are criticizing Disney for what they would have done or could have done?

How in the hell can you criticize Disney for not doing something.....lol
