Hi,
My son just phoned and said his wife left her DAP at home. They will be going to the parks next week. I told him that I thought they can go to the gate and get a pass to go to the AP processing center. Now I'm thinking that they may have to go to the ticket booth or guest services. Any info. will be greatly appreciated :) Also, what is the fee for a replacement?
Thank you :)

Guest Services - and DS19 said the fee was $20 but his GF said it was $30 - They lost one in Feb.

If they're going later in the week (depending on where you live), you may be able to get a new one through the mail before then. There is a fee that's around $20, but it's not too tough of a procedure. When I renewed last fall online/receiving in the mail, I got mine in about 3 days, in LA.

Disney will offer one "free" pass a year to someone who left the AP at home. They print out a Cardboard ticket that allows you into the park. If you are from outside the area, they might issue one for a few days straight, for example, someone who drove up from San Diego for the weekend, they might offer to give you the pass 3 days in a row. They do keep track of this info in the computer system.

If you get one of these passes, make sure and stop by City Hall to get a "FastPass" barcode, as the special one-day AP doesn't have a barcode. Just show your ticket and ID (required) to get the pass.

But on your "second" visit of the year, they will require you to buy a replacment "plastic" AP, currently has a $20 charge for the replacement.

Currently any ticket window, or guest SERVICES on the Disneyland side can offer either the one-day pass and/or the replacement AP (Each window now has an AP printer, so they can use the photo on file and print a replacement).

Why do they charge for replacements?

AP's really are treated like second class citizens at DLR with this and AP-preview lottery.

Whoops, meant to add thanks to gottaluv and Ferret. Thats one thing I really love about LP, everyone willing to take some time to post their thoughts and helpful info.

mousemerf, I don't know the answer to your question, it's funny though, I just assumed there would be a fee.
We are self employed and see what even a re run of a statement costs in time, ink, paper, electricity, postage, etc. It may just take a few moments but there is a cost and someone needs to pay for it. Bottom line i suppose :)

If there was no charge to replace, a certain number of people would not bring their passes and just show up and expect to get a "replacement" each time they came to the park.

Just to add to Darkbeer's comment, it is once a calendar year.
