Post 258 is just asking for trouble. You are better than that.*** Josh, I wrote "there is no afterlife". That is my honest belief. Nothing to do with "fighting back" whatsoever. I'm as entitled to that belief as anyone, no? How is that "asking for trouble"? Am I not entitled to that belief?

If a girl you know comes up to you and says "how do I look?" and you honestly think she's the ugliest thing you ever saw and pigs wallowing in mud look better than she does, but you also know if you told her that, it would make her cry and hurt her feelings so bad your friendship is ruined, are you still going to tell her? After all, you're just being honest. No, common sense, decency and respect for her feelings would make you give a a different answer. When you label people idiots and fools for believing in their chosen religion, it's nothing more than name calling and doesn't further any kind of debate. It only leads to fights. You know darn well if someone called you an idiot for playing the drums when only fools would pursue that line of work, you'd take umbrage in a heartbeat.
263	utahjosh Wed 5/7/2008 8:33a	You are certainly entitled to that belief. But it's the way in which your belief is posted that people are concerned about. If you just put "I believe" in front of those things, you'll avoid a lot of crap from other people. It's simple, you may think stupid or unnecessary, but it's the truth. That's what you're being attacked for, not for your beliefs.

269	utahjosh Wed 5/7/2008 8:43a	I think he's being attacked for making blunt statements against people's beliefs, and for stating his beliefs as facts. And I don't think he really started doing that until after the attacks began.
