Again, Josh, I do appreciate your words of support (even though apparently I ticked you off soon after lol).

I'm trying to be nothing but honest here, I really am.

<I'm trying to be nothing but honest here, I really am.>

I appreciate that. Being honest is great, and being polite is icing on the cake.

One thing I have to ask though, Josh, since you took exception to my comments that I believe all religions are money making scams...

Do you believe that ANY of them are money making scams?

Do you leave room for the possibility that SOME of them are just out to make money?

Do you feel that they are ALL "just and charitable organizations" that are simply wrong about who god is?

Is it even possible that ONE of them is just a money making scam? Or a few of them?

Just food for thought...

***and being polite is icing on the cake***

Interestingly, when I was reading up on Jesus I noticed that he frequently chose honesty over politeness. ;)

<Do you believe that ANY of them are money making scams?>

Yes, I believe there have been some people running churches that are in it for the dough. Some televangelists come to mind (maybe it's just because I've seen Fletch Lives too many times). But I don't know for sure, I can't see into the hearts of the people doing it.

I do believe that most church-goers and leaders are trying to do what's best, trying to live a good life and follow God the best way they know how. Even if I think they have some doctrines wrong.

I took exception to your comment that MY religion is a money making scam.

***I do believe that most***

I like your optimism.

But how many leaders of the world go to church?

How often do they give orders to kill?

Doesn't jive with me, sorry (and if the leaders are doing it, etc...).

***I took exception to your comment that MY religion is a money making scam.***

Sorry, but that's what I believe.

If it makes you feel any better, I believe they all are. So I am by no means singling you or the Mormons out on this.

Religion is the single biggest money maker in the history of the planet (oil and tobacco are distant cousins in comparison).

Just look at the facts. It's big business, bro.

<Funny thing is, Dabob, I really don't find that rude.

I find it very reactionary though. Obviously meant to be hurtful, but I don't take it that way.>

Well, I find it rude. And I find telling someone they're an idiot for believing in a religion is rude. Just being honest about that. :)

If you believe my religion is a money-making scam, please give me some evidence as to why.

Who is taking all the money? What are they doing with it? Why would they do it?

Don't speculate. If you are going to attack my religion, you better come with some facts.

I appreciate that, and I'm not trying to call anyone an idiot here (I don't think anyone is).

I think believing that stuff is idiotic though. I really do.

And hey, I do plenty of idiotic stuff myself. So I'm not saying it's unusual. ;p
