<ONCE AGAIN, I didn't single out your group whatsoever. I'm speaking of the entire industry.>

That's great. But you included my religion, said it was a money-making scam, and I have every right to defend it.

I DO know what the lifestyle of our leaders is like. A LOT more than you do! One of the twelve apostles, the highest "ranking" leadership group, is the grandpa of a good friend of mine. So you don't know what you are talking about here, and I do.

<And I'm sure it is similar for the leaders of ANY of the big moneymaker religions.>

Nice assumption. Look into it before you defame my religion.

<As far as the big beautiful temples, churches, synagogues, etc., to "glorify god", I don't buy that crap for a second.>

We disagree on the use and construction of Temples. I still don't see how that makes my religion a money-making scam.

<I'm quite sure god would be happier with people hanging out in the big beautiful outdoors that HE supposedly created, glorifying him through words.>

We do both.

<What the heck does GOD care about some big, expensive, elaborate buildings?>

Here is why we build them. I don't know if God does care about elaborate buildings or not.

***But you included my religion, said it was a money-making scam, and I have every right to defend it.***

Dude, for the last time, I didn't single out the Mormons.

However, since you continue on this track, I'll just have to repeat that YES these are money making scams.

They demand your money and promise you life eternal.

That's a scam.

Dave, don't you mean Sokk-mimi?

I dunno, but I'm getting pretty freaked. This is the worse set of quakes I've ever felt.

Anyone read anything on CNN yet?

Sorry, Josh. All I got from that link was that you guys feel extremely self-important.

Otherwise, it's no different from all the other gigantic, expensive and elaborate buildings that churches like to build with all the bilked cash.

Mr X,

You included my church in your list of money-making scams. Whether you singled it out or not makes no difference to me.

You have given no evidence of it being a money making scam. Who's benefiting from and perpetuating this so-called scam?

Give some backup or shuttup.

Ooops, I was blasphemous. Sokk-mimi is angered.

Hope you are well and no major damage is done.

Josh, in some way X's comments are fair. The Temples and Tabernacles are expensive and beautiful (as is Notre Dame, Westminster Abbey et al). Personally I love churches. But they are expensive. But when governments build nice civic buildings or put on Olympic Games, or a Millenium Dome, the masses do tend to cry out that the money could have been better spent on people. The thrust of the arguement by X I believe is the same.

I am getting defensive, and I'll try to be more polite. "Shuttup" isn't very nice.

But you continue your claim that my church is a money-making scam, you are defaming it, with no real evidence other than your assumptions.
