The theme of the source material is irrelevant. And Ohana has nothing to do with Global Homogeniality. Just say "I like it. He's cute." The mental gymnastics are exhausting. |

Actually, plpeters, I was talking about the look and placement of the new characters. So yes, they all do hold true to the theme and style of the original characters that are already in the attraction.

You either didn't see the movie or don't know what is the meaning of 'ohana. |

Sorry, but this is just a silly statement. We're all talking about theme - about the ability of the new inclusions to peacefully coexist with the old characters. And the big discussion is about the theme of iasw vs. the theme of the incoming evildoers. And in that context, theme is EVERYTHING! It's all about what fits, and what doesn't. And if you're going to impose some arbitrary discrimination and say that if the proposed character is previously known to the public, then it can't possibly fit in (no matter how much redesign is done) with the existing characters, well it's back to the ol' agree to disagree thing. |

| dshyates Wed 4/30/2008 7:06p | The theme of "Through the Looking Glass" is irrelevant to Alice and the White Rabbits inclusion into IASW. The theme of Peter and Wendy is irreleveant to why Peter, Wendy, and Tink are being included. And the theme of Lilo and Stitch is irrelevant to their inclusion into IASW. The same goes for TOY STORY, Jungle Book, and Bambi. |

Funny you should mention that...I just found out that I'll probably be playing with a group at the gala for it tomorrow night! There is also a group going out Friday morning for it, but I'm busy then. I'll definately have to check it out and report back as well! |
