| GMouse Mon 4/28/2008 10:29a | I saw on Disney's web site that Pirates of the Caribbean is going to be closed for maintenance during our trip to WDW June 7 through June 13. That's really a bummer considering this was to be one of the hi-lights of our trip.
Wasn't this ride recently refurbished? Does anyone know why it might be scheduled to be closed that week? |

And now not only will passengers be on the lookout for Capt. Jack but also these new characters as well. But don't worry, the theme of the ride will remain the same, it's just that there will be these new characters to keep the ride relevant.
Sounds pretty cool, I think. |

In a serious answer to the question, every major e-ticket goes down for refurb about once a year. Whether it's propulsion systems, boat refurbs, set painting, costumes, it doesn't matter. They do it all at once. And since they do not refurb at night as much anymore, these rides tend to go down longer. It's unfortunate for you.

That's why I don't take the "alarmists" seriously... I am willing to put 10 grand on the fact Disney would never add characters to POTC within the next 10 years, so if any of you who are saying "I wouldn't be surprised if they did" want to put your money where your mouth is, let me know... |
