Whether it is good for them or bad for them, in the final analysis what are you going to do about it? I don't know about you, but I would hate a world where movies and TV shows were not allowed to employ actors younger than 18.
(Though it would be a real boost for the careers of Emmanuel Lewis and Gary Coleman...)

More work for puppeteers! Just imagine what the Henson folks could do if you paid them all the money those child stars are getting. |

I believe its symbiotic. She would have no career if he wasn't Billy Ray Cyrus. And he may or may not be on TV right now if it were not for the Hannah Montana Show. He is shooting 2 non Hannah Montana feature films right now. "Flying By" about a real estate agent who rejoins his High School rock band putting his family and career at risk. And "Bait Shop", which is a Bill Engvall project. |

Right. And I think it's gross to use his daughter to help his career. As a parent, I don't expect my child to do as much for me as I do for them. |

Me too... at least not until I get to be really old. Then all bets are off!

So he should refuse to be on the Hannah Montana Show just because his daughter is on it? He has a much longer career and is still working in the industry outside of the Hannah Montana world. I don't think supporting actor on a cable kids show is the best that Billy Ray could be doing for his career. Kind of like when my wife quit social work and went to work at a pre-school so she could supervise our kids until they went to primary school. Then she went into banking. |

If I were Billy Ray Cyrus, I'd simply refuse to let my daughter get into the industy until she's old enough.

He wasn't asked to be on the show - he auditioned for it.
According to the special on Barbara Walters a while back - she sent in her audition, Disney said no they wanted someone older - Miley was persistant and finally won the role. The role of the father had not been cast so Billy Ray decided to audition for it...Of course he got it because the *chemistry* was right between them! |

Even better. Is there something wrong with him going to an open audition and actually getting the role. Its not like he went in and they really wanted Mylie and he said no beans unless he's on board too. They both worked hard auditioned and it worked out well for them. |

Come on, people. You really think Billy Ray Cyrus just showed up for the audition of 'Hannah Montana'?
'Dad??? Omigod, what are you doing here?'
Sounds like a great piece of folklore. |
