| Inspector 57 Mon 4/28/2008 8:35p | This isn't "World Events" material. "World Events" would suggest that this episode is somehow important, surprising, or otherwise noteable.
This is, sadly, what has become routine "General Entertainment" and "Disney Business." It's Britany and Lindsay. It's Janet and Justin and the SuperBowl and all the disingenuity that followed. It's businesses -- magazines, families, corporations -- scrambling to promote themselves in whatever ways work.
Billy Ray Cyrus began his career in entertainment as a stripper; I'm not buying the Cyrus family members' outrage over this. And it's disappointing to me that Disney's stand seems to be one that's calculated on how it will affect business, not on any moral pinnings. |

| gottaluvdavillains Mon 4/28/2008 8:48p | <Billy Ray Cyrus began his career in entertainment as a stripper;> That I didn't know - no wonder he didn't put a stop to this when it was suggested her clothes come off!
<I'm not buying the Cyrus family members' outrage over this>
Knowing now that he was a stripper - I would agree - however I do believe Miley is embarrassed by the pictures - she is 15 and at that age even if you are Hannah Montana - you do have some modesty! I think she trusted the wrong people to make the right decision for her - and those people her parents didn't act in the best interest of their child! Hmmm smells like Dina and Lynne school of parenting! |

I can't be positive, but I don't believe that is true. He grew up at a small town in KY not far from where I went to college and he used to play all the time at a bar called the Ragtime in Ceredo-Kanova, West Virginia. Before that he went to Georgetown College, which is a Baptist college, on a baseball scholarship. He did spend some time shopping his demo around LA, and he did look mighty fine in them jeans, but I don't believe he spent time as a stripper. |

Unless she really is a tart and the entire "wholesome" image is just good old Disney marketing at its best.
I imagine that her family is well aware that young Miley can't play Hanna Montana forever and are probably trying to transition her into the next phase of her very profitable career. This might have something to do with the risque photos. |

| dshyates Mon 4/28/2008 10:34p | What I see in the Vanity Fair pics and the online pics is a beautiful young lady who is no longer a child. I don't see them as risque at all. I see pictures of a beautiful young lady. To bill them as topless is disingenious at best. And this is a far cry from Brittney's barely there body stocking, Janets "wardrobe malfunction", or Brittney and Madonna's liplock on the VMAs. I can't believe they are comparing her to Brittney because whe is showing a bra strap. That right there proves she's no Brittney. She has a bra on. Probably panties too. |

| Kira Mon 4/28/2008 10:49p | I find this entire "controversy" a LAUGH and I believe it is all for publicity. Hang with me here as I voice my opinion on this "issue".
I feel that the professional photo done by Annie is LESS provocative than the "personal" photos of Miley's that have found their way to the internet. The ones that could basically be considered child porn since she was younger in the "personal" photos than she is in the Vanity Fair photo. If you haven't seen the photos, there are SEVERAL out there gracing the pages of celebrity gossip sites. Photos of Miley posing and photographing herself in provocative poses with puckered lips in her underwear and making several inappropriate finger gestures.
Disney has yet to release ANY statement about those "personal" photos, but Vanity fair "manipulates" Miley for their magazine, and Disney gets ALL over it releasing a statement within hours.
It's all quite ridiculous and honestly I have lost my respect for Miley as a performer and role model. I used to think she was a great role model for kids, but based on the recent photos, public and private, proves to me that she is NOT the "good girl" persona that she is force feeding our kids through the disney channel.
The fact that she is making huge money off that persona and feeding her fans lies makes me sick -_-
*end rant*

| dshyates Mon 4/28/2008 11:04p | This has been an issue with the Disney girls since Annette's cup sized surpassed her mouse ears. Miley's growing up. And I haven't seen anything really inappropriate yet. She is expressing a need for mature guidance, but what 15 year old doesn't. As of yet, I am not worried about her. Do I believe that she will go up, try alcohol, and experiment with sex? Yes. Is she even close to out of control? No. |
