As some of you may know, in my drunken idiot thread I mentioned that I work selling tickets part time for the Brewers. I worked all weekend at the windows for people to either buy what remaining tickets we have or they can pick up them up. We had sellouts pretty much all weekend but also very weird weather. Doesn't matter because we have a roof over the joint.

Sidenote-Roadtrip how you guys aren't putting a retractable roof on your new place is beyond me.

Friday was very nice out mid-70's but then it started to rain really hard. Like pull over to the side of the road because it's raining so hard.

Well Saturday it was cold and windy very very wind up to 50 to 60 mph. So me and few other people are out by the ticket windows and we can see one of the parking lots which is pretty close by. We notice a group of people and some police and parking lot security. All of sudden we see 10 or 12 guys lifting up a Port A John. The wind knocked it over door side down. They open the door and out comes the occupant of said Port A John. If that was me I'd still be in the shower. Because it wasn't me, well it took us all quite awhile to gather our composure from laughing so hard.

OMG that is hilarious!!!! disgustingly hilarious!!thats somethin you'd see being done on purpose on Jacka$$. I don't like that show, BUT that whole outhouse/portapotty being turned upside down with someone in it ( hopefully male) lol! is just so funny.

<<Sidenote-Roadtrip how you guys aren't putting a retractable roof on your new place is beyond me.>>

I've been asking the same thing. I'm going to be pretty reluctant to renew my Season Ticket package knowing I'll freeze my butt off during April and late September games.

Who knows, maybe they will offer a "Fair Weather Fan" package that just has May - early September games!!

The Twins like to talk about the romance of outdoor baseball, the view of the Minneapolis skyline from the new stadium, other outdoor baseball stadiums in cold weather areas (Chicago, Detroit) etc.

The elephant in the room no one wants to mention is the lack of space. Given the constraints of their favored site, there would have been no room to provide for a ballpark with a slide-back roof. As you can see in the link below, the park is hemmed in at the top of the picture by the Hennepin County Garbage Burner, at the bottom by the Target Center, and on both sides by major roads/freeways that can not be moved.

So we get to sit outside in the cold and the rain while we smell burning garbage. Romantic, huh?

We did the same thing during the high school years. It was to a buddy at the beach and his Port a John went door side down too. When we picked it back up he headed straight for the water!

Funny and

not.

Two years ago a bunch of kids did that to a man coming off his shift from driving a city bus and using the PortA Potty in the bus yard. He was paralyzed from his injuries. After months in the hospital he came home to his house which was totally unusable for him. The community and some local businesses have totally converted his home, but he continues to work on recovery even today.

If I didn't know that story, I would be laughing my sides off.

Funny, I never minded the elements when watching baseball. If I have to put on six more layers to watch play off baseball - so what!

I agree that baseball is best when watched outside but we bought a 10 pack of BlueJays tix, not to see the Jays but it was the best way to see 7 Red Sox games. Anyway, it was nice not to have to worry about driving 3 hours and having the game rained out.
