***I am not about to try and convince you otherwise about the parade.***

Lee, like I said I thought the parade was good, so I can only assume you mean "convince" me about the music.

All I can say is, it's been two days and I can't for the life of me recall one single bit of it.

Maybe me and the people in my group just didn't "get it", but none of us thought it was catchy or memorable at all.

***It just made me wonder whether that is literally all the local audience want - characters in abundance in every way, shape or form. And as many as possible. Storyline just isn't necessary. They aren't there to watch theater and us pushing theater on to them isn't going to work.***

I think you may be onto something.

I can only speak for myself, but to me I do NOT go to a Disney show looking to watch theater per se. If I want that, I'll go to Ginza and see Les Miserables (which I love).

For me, I do enjoy seeing characters (it's Disney after all), but seeing tons of them is just cool in the sense that I don't feel like you get that in the American parks (I could care less if I ever see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, or the others that we see over and over and over, but it's kinda neat to see Brer Rabbit...make sense?).

So, yes I do kind of expect characters. Other than that, for a castle show, I want catchy music. Cute dancers. Neat special effects. A spectacular finish.

Nope...story doesn't even enter into it for me.

But of course, that's for a castle show. I guess I sort of look at that like I'd look at the Rockettes if I went to Radio City. Do THEY tell a story? Or just dance? It's more the spectacle I guess is my point.

I have no problem with the role the Characters play, without them you wouldn't have a Disney park. But I do agree a happy medium would be nice here, and it would be good if the Resort didn't always concentrate on character shows, but it is what sells all the merchadise and you can not argue with the fact that shows like One Man's Dream and Minnie Oh Minnie are always filled to capacity, well atleast on my trips.

I'm also not convinced the Snow Queen would of worked over in Japan. Of course until you try it and provide them with a show that doesn't feature characters you really don't know what the Japanese really want. Which is the biggest fault going with the OLC at the moment, instead of asking what guest would like to see, they are telling them what they want to see. The characters are garanteed to get a reaction out of guest visiting, no matter what, and its making the OLC very lazy in putting any kind of real effort into any of its productions.
