Sailing Day is all you can eat, I think.

The lunch prices are much cheaper, so that's a good option if you want to eat a lot and then maybe wait til late night for dinner.

Yep. "Viking style" as they say in Japan. I had the hostess inform me of that before being seated when I ate there. If I didn't already know that that was Japanese English for "all-you-can-eat buffet" I think it would cause more confusion rather than explain things.

lol...never heard that one.

The Japanese (in case anyone wants to ask somewhere) is "Tabehoudai" (all you want to eat...they also have "nomihoudai" (all you want to drink) which is a useful phrase.

Often there is a time limit though (especially on all you can drink lol). 90 minutes or 2 hours is typical, and at SOME places like Korean Bar-B-Que style you must be very careful because if you order too many plates of food and then don't finish them (within the time limit...how stressful is that!?) they might charge you for the leftover meat on the plates.

Quite complicated, but no worries like that at any of the Disney buffets I think.

What did you folks think of the food at the Sailing Day Buffet?

It was a while ago, but I thought it was fine.

Not the greatest, but not bad.

Typical all you can eat buffet stuff (I think I recall the also had all you can drink soft drinks and juice maybe? That, I thought, was a plus).

Had a meal here on the last trip, due to the all you can eat buffet it was recomended to eat here rather than at Mellegan's. I thought the food was alright but nothing outstanding either. I would place it on the same level as the current Buffet style food found at DLRP. I'm considering trying one of the Buffet options at the Hong Kong Disney Hotels when I visit later this week. Either Enchanted Garden Restaurant or Chef Mickey both sound good.

Malin, have you eaten in the fancy restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel in Hong Kong? The one with the Koi projections on the floor?

Not yet The Goddess Mara as I'm visiting later in the week for the first time. Lee recomended in another thread that it was worth checking out. Looks like WDI put a lot of work into the Restuarant!
