Some good one-liners from the President at his last White House Correspondents' Association roast. I liked this part:

>>I have to say, I'm kind of surprised we don't have more presidential candidates here tonight -- like any. Senator McCain is not here. He probably wanted to distance himself from me a little bit. You know, he's not alone. Jenna is moving out, too.

The two Democratic candidates aren't here either. Senator Clinton couldn't get into the building because of sniper fire and Senator Obama is at church.<<

Craig Ferguson seems to have gone easy on the "roastee" (afraid of what happened to Colbert, I guess):

>>He brought up President Bush's pledge eight years ago to restore dignity to the White House. Then Ferguson needled Bush: "I thought you were fantastic on 'Deal or No Deal.' "

Ferguson asked what [the] president would do after leaving office, then offered, "You could look for a job with more vacation time."

Of Vice President Dick Cheney, Ferguson quipped that the administration's No. 2 man "is already moving out of his residence. It takes longer than you think to pack up an entire dungeon."<<

I've seen a few of these dinners and the question really has to be asked, but why do get this President Bush only once a year or so? He's usually very funny and charming. Check him out the year that Colbert was there when he had his look alike come out. It's very well played. It's just too bad he's made so many boneheaded decisions.
