Your attention please, now arriving from a trip around Walt Disney's Magic Kindgom, and down Harbor Blvd, the Fred Gurley engine and tender will be on display this weekend (May 3rd and 4th)at the Annual Fullerton Railroad Days. Just a few miles North of the Disneyland Resort. Here is a link to the event site:

It's a wonderful weekend for train lovers and one of the few opportunities you will have to actually climb aboard the Fred Gurley and ring the bell and blow the whistle. Don't miss it!

The Carolwood Pacific Founndation and Society will have a booth with all of their wonderful books and other items. Come on by and say hello to Michael and Sharon Broggie and share some of the magic you have experienced on the Disneyland Railroad.

"All Aboard!"

I'm definitely planning on being there one day or the other. I went a couple of years ago, and there were several private train cars you could tour, plus lots and lots and lots of model trains.

Sounds interesting. Where does one park?

There is a large parking garage right next to the Amtrak/Metrolink Station. Also street parking, try about a block or so away.

Yes, parking can be a problem during Railroad Days, but just a few blocks away you should find plenty of parking on Commonwealth just east of Lemon.

You will really have a lot of fun.

Or plan a "train" day, that is what Lisa and I are doing on Saturday, drive to the Santa Ana Station, park the car for free, and then take the Metrolink Train to the Fullerton Station.

Metrolink has pretty good weekend service, and most locations offer free parking.

I think It Is very cool that certain Locomotives and their Tenders get to leave their Work and Sleeping place once a year to head North to the Fullerton Amtrak Station , It works out because people who don't want to visit the Magic Kingdom On the weekends can get the same feeling with the Disney Locos at FRD , The next thing I woundn't mind seeing at Railroad Days is Our E.P.Ripley going up against the ATSF #3751 Steam Engine in a head to head race along the tracks to Los Angeles Union Station , But We all know that the Disney Locos will never fit on the BNSF Tracks !
