I've just been looking through the Resorts updated maintenance schedules for up to November.

Some interesting points to make note of here.

Mystic Rhythms(Hangar Stage)
September 27, 2008 - December 5, 2008

Over the Waves(Dockside Stage)
September 1, 2008 - September 11, 2008
November 1, 2008 - November 6, 2008

What work needs to be done that is going to close Mystic Rhythms down for a full two months.

I also found it interesting that Over the Waves main stage is having a refurbishment between the 1st to the 11th of September, and again between 1st of November and the 6th. Could this be something to do with the Disney a la Carte event.

Anyone know more!

I'm bummed that Mystic Rhythms will be closed during my trip in October. 20,000 Leagues will also be down, as will Small World. It's very strange ... they always seem to close Small World for a month during the Halloween celebration.

It's because of the Christmas overlay, isn't it?

That would make sense. Have never seen it.

Unfortunately, I will also be affected by the closure of the Hangar stage (we are visiting Oct. 29-31, 2008). I was looking forward to see that show again. On the other hand, only this and Small World will be closed during our visit, so I guess this isn't too bad.

As for the Dockside Stage closing, could it be that the first closure is to prepare the show for Halloween and the second closure for Christmas preparations?

Last time, we stayed Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 (1997) and it was fun to see how overnight from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 a lot of christmas decorations had shown up. I could even buy a mug with the Harborside Christmas logo.

Hey, I had to endure a Pooh's Hunny Hunt refurbishment for my first ever trip to TDL. I think you can handle a Mystic Rhythms refurb! :)

Sadly its the gamble we all pay when booking Disney vacations months in advanced. During my last trip both Splash Mountain and 20,000 Leagues were down, and these are two of my favourite attractions.

I'm more interested to know why the show is down for so long!
