I need urgent help in relation to some advice about organising a private meeting with Snow White for a child suffering from Leukaemia who is travelling to Disneyland in 2 weeks.

This little girl is 7 years old and her "make a wish" wish was to travel to Disneyland (from Australia) to meet Snow White.

Following a huge fundraising effort in her home town in South Australia, the family are now on their way to make her dream come true. She is taking a short break from chemo treatment and upon their return to Australia, she is needing a bone marrow transplant.

The parents have booked a princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto in California Adventure. They rang Disneyland explained what Thandi has gone through and requested a private meeting with Snow White. Disneyland told them the best they could do is get Snow White to sing "happy birthday" to her. Even though the mother explained that it was not her birthday.

Does anyone know how I could arrange a private meeting for the family? What is the protocol, who do I ring to organise this? Does anyone have a contact at Disney?

The family are simply wanting a few minutes of "special" time with Snow White privately.

Do you think this is possible?

If you can help, email me directly. Click on my name.

Thanks.

I can't help, but I do wish the best of luck for you in your efforts.

I feel confident that if you are able to reach the right people, they can make this happen!

I am going to suggest upon their arrival to Ariels Grotto make sure they speak to the manager and explain the situation - Maybe they can be seated at the end of the Princess rounds so she will get the extra attention.

Megara, if the local chapter of Make a Wish cannot help, why not contact either Vacation Planning or City Hall at DL?

^^^ I was going to suggest City Hall, too. I've had some pretty good experiences with them in the past. One thing I've noticed though is the CMs there vary from okay to fabulous, so it would be worthwhile trying to contact them again if you didn't have any luck the first time around - you might just get a more helpful CM the second time. I say that because last time I was there I went to City Hall twice about a lost camera; the first time I was told "eh, we don't keep that sort of thing here", and the second time the (different) CM went out the back, checked the photos and produced the camera.

And yeah, I'd try Ariel's Grotto when you get there too. I'm sure that you can make something special happen!

While I think city hall is a good idea, you should try as best you can to arrange this ahead of time.

Since the schedules are already set on the day you are in the park, it might be difficult for them to make changes. However, if they are able to pre-arrange a special greeting it's something they can already set on the schedule. At least, that's the way it works in Tokyo.

Hopefully some Anaheim CM's (particularly entertainment...Butters?), can chime in here!

Thank you for all your wonderful thoughts and information.

I have been contacted by several wondeful people offering advice.

I have also been contacted by a reporter from LA who wants to cover the story.

So things are looking good.

I also agree that Make a Wish would do wonderful work, but in the case of Thandi, her wish was granted by the kind generosity of the Dunn family and the people of Adelaide, South Australia.

Thank you so much.
