Ha ha got you, will have to take that on board.

While we are on the subject of Ocean Park, I would love to get everyone's feedback on the redevelopment plan that the park is in the process of doing.

I can't post a direct link but if you go over to the Ocean Park website http://www.oceanpark.com.hk/en...dex.html and hover the mouse over Park HQ a menu will appear and if you click on Ocean Park redevelopment plan it will take you to a site full of concept art. I think it looks very promising and Hong Kong Disneyland is going to have to come up with something special here to compete against this!

Yep, and living in the UK, I do not really like traditional English food.

I went to Ocean Park in 2001. It seemed very much to be a cross of a Six Flags and SeaWorld park - lots of animals, and lots of traditional amusement park things like roller coasters and spinners of various sorts. It's definitely worth a visit. Among other things, as a Disney fan, it's useful to visit OP in order to put HKDL into context.

Thanks SuperDry, my Ocean Park tickets have arrived today in the post, and we'll be visiting on Monday the 19th of May. I'm not expecting much, but I feel the animal exhibits and views will be worth the price of admission alone. Not a Six Flags fan at all. But like you say as a Disney fan, it will be useful to visit OP in order to put HKDL into context.

I have been to Ocean Park('05) and it was lousy; no, *extremely* lousy and I wouldn't go back if they paid me $75.

It was a complete pile of camel dung and one notch better than a county fair--- I felt embarrassed being there.

Ocean Park did have one redeeming quality: outstanding views/location

I will have more on this in my upcoming trip report but I think refering to it as a complete pile of camel dung is a little harsh. Certainly the park is not in the same league as Hong Kong Disneyland and the Ocean Park management will be the first to admit this. Thats why during my trip I was witnessed to construction walls everywhere which is going to in 2010 introduce two brand new areas to this park which will double it in size. This will include new Animal exhibits, attractions and shows. Also you have to take into account the proposal for three new hotels and a brand new MTR line, the future looks bright for Ocean Park and I don't think we have even scratched the surface on what this park is capable of providing in a few short years.

Based on what I saw in Nov.'06(I was mistaken about '05 earlier)name one attraction at Ocean Park that is worth my time, just one--- that's all I'm asking. Every thing there is carnival grade, off the shelf, stamped out dog droppings. I would take **any** Universal, Disney or Bush attraction over **any** at Ocean Park. Heck, Pet Shenanigans at Bush Gardens Williamsburg is far better than their heavy hitter, the jellyfish exibit.

And the food offerings are woeful at best and uneatable at worst.

As to its future:
why not fix what is there instead of adding more?

But if you had a good time there then more power to you. And I must be a minority because just about everyone recommends the place(that's why I showed up).
