1	sjdimon Thu 5/1/2008 3:33p	ALL: Well, it sure didn't take long. Video of the New It's a Small World at Hong Kong Disneyland have already surfaced on You Tube. I've watched two of them, and IMO, they have done a nice job of integrating the Disney Characters with the Dolls. The only one that (to me) stands out a little too much is Cinderella and her Prince. There is a LARGE Cinderella Castle behind them, plus the music changes. But other than that one (and it's not bad, it just stands out - many of the others just "blend in") - the figures are very much in the Mary Blair style, all in all, I like it. So - if this is what we have in store for DL, then IMO (please, this is just MY OPINION - it's neither RIGHT nor WRONG), IASW even with characters added will still be OK. I am sure that some of you will agree with me, and others will not. But that's OK too. So take a look, and see what you think.
2	mawnck Thu 5/1/2008 5:00p	We found these a while back. They had the astonishing effect of changing absolutely no one's mind. Do you really think the Three Caballeros are in Mary Blair style?
3	sjdimon Thu 5/1/2008 5:08p	I must have blinked during the 3 Caballero's - didn't see them. I guess my point is, it didn't seem **that bad** overall. I still don't love the idea of the whole character addition, but it didn't seem as bad as it is being made out to be, IMO!

When the news first broke about the DL version people wildly guessed that the existing dolls were going to take a back seat to the character additions. This is obviously not the case. That is, if HKDL's version is representative of what Anaheim will get. The new ride looks beautiful, and while I could do without the characters, the addition of them in ISMW isn't any worse than what they've done by adding them in Tomorrowland and other areas of the Resort where they do not belong.

6	sjdimon Fri 5/2/2008 6:28a	OK - I **did* see them there - I meant on the Ride Thru - in other words, I don't think that it detracted from the ride, but that's just My Opinion! Hans liked it too, you don't - so that's your opinion. All I am saying is that it's not as bad as people were saying. In my opinion. Y'all are free to disagree, and judging by all of the other threads out there, there is a lot of that. That's all. Thanks for your insight though. I appreciate it.

If talking on a website about fundamental changes to a beloved classic 40 year old ride bothers you .. Gee, I would hate to see your reaction in a Town Hall meeting.

10	Witches of Morva Mon 5/5/2008 2:39p	ORWEN: I don't. I agree that--after all is said and done--adding Disney characters to the ride isn't so bad. They really DO just blend in, for the most part. Now, the thing that DOES bother me is what Disneyland ended up doing to Tom Sawyer's Island--ruining the Frontierland theme.
